muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 For most of my life I had gone around as if there was only one type of man to have a relationship with. (A 3 day long boyfriend in high school hardly qualifies right...?) So, this year I opened myself up the dating outside my race. As a black female, I can say that we don't date outside our race as much as women of other races. I must say that I am quite comfortable dating white men. Many similarities come in different packages. Though we may all know this, I have witnessed it for myself and can speak on it now more than ever before. I've come to the conclusion that I think a white man will be IT for me, not as a caprice, but as a life-long partner. Anyone care to share experiences? Now, my question...Is there anything in particular that you(men or woman) pay more attention to when dating...especially when dating outside your race?
Green Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I'm a white guy and I have gone on dates with black girls, as long as a girl is hot!
Author muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 I'm a white guy and I have gone on dates with black girls, as long as a girl is hot! funny...hotness is relative. but that's an honest answer and i feel you on that!
EYECANDY000 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Why is race an issue? .. just date who you are attracted to. I date outside and within my race, whats the big deal!
TigerCub Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 All my relationships have been interacial. I'm of an arabic background and I would never date an arabic guy. I've hade relationships with mostly white guys, gone on dates with a few black guys and even a few mixed guys- so all my dates/relationships have been interacial. It's no big deal.
BubblyPopcorn Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I'm a mixed breed parents-wise but for the most part caucasian. I've dated Italian, Irish, German, Indian, and Columbian. But mostly attracted to Irish and/or German and my last two LTR's they were both Irish/German.
Author muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Why is race an issue? .. just date who you are attracted to. I date outside and within my race, whats the big deal! didn't intend to imply that there is a "big deal". my intentions were to get dialogue b/c this is "new" for me, not a big deal. just as a new job is "new", not necessarily a "big deal". gosh...hopefully no one is offended by my post b'c it's not in any way my intention...
jerbear Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 Now, my question...Is there anything in particular that you(men or woman) pay more attention to when dating...especially when dating outside your race? Most of my dates were not the same race as me. I pay attention to how she presents herself and does she have any intelligence. Also if she has any "quirks" like accents, dimples, smile, eyes, hair, or makeup.
Author muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Why is race an issue? .. just date who you are attracted to. I date outside and within my race, whats the big deal! i was never exposed to any other culture until high school. after that, of course i was exposed to and worked with a more diverse population. however, this topic is real whether you are aware of it or not. there are many areas where people live with little or no interaction with any culture aside from their own. i teach in one of these areas, so this limited exposure does still exist. again, pls don't be offended by the thread
Shygirl15 Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I'm interracial myself but would rather date blacks.
Author muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 i've dated one guy who was italian and most recently one who was italian/german. i was mostly attracted to his sense of humor and smile. he was attracted to my quick wit, my eyes, mouth, and some other choice areas... he was one of THE most passionate men i have ever gone out with. he's probably what inspired me to post this thread. just thinking of him. i miss him dearly...
trubella Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 ive dated white men since i was a teenager, mostly due to the circumstances of living in germany half of my life (army brat) my current bf is white (serbian) we've been together for a year now. my son is a product of an IR(his father is italian) at this point its just something im pretty used to, ive only had 2 experiences with blk men as a teen, dated a few hispanics as a teen when we moved back to the states, but the majority ive dated are white. used to it at this point. i will say that dating interracially in europe is a bit more acceptive than here in the states, i never got snide remarks, nasty looks when i dated guys there compared to living here in the south, which is still backwards i might add in some areas.
Author muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 "Choice" areas? As in your privates? ah well, areas that are more personal...neck, chest, etc...didn't wanna get all detailed in here...you're funny bubbly. dag,why did you have to ask?
allina Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 What's up with these race threads popping up all over the place? Weird. Anyways, I'm white, my bf is not. I have dated outside of my race quite a bit as well as within it, I'm open to all races. Things I look for in a partner don't vary from race to race except for one thing. When dating outside of my race I need someone who will not push their culture/religion on me if things get serious. I love what other cultures bring to my life and will gladly embrace new traditions, food etc. but I am not willing to adopt any religion or have my life dictated.

Green Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 I get my posts deleted any time I start asking about race. I wonder how long a thread titled "Jungle Fever" would last
BubblyPopcorn Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 ah well, areas that are more personal...neck, chest, etc...didn't wanna get all detailed in here...you're funny bubbly. dag,why did you have to ask? Yes yes, let us not forget men and their love of boobies. What about your belly button?
Author muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 I get my posts deleted any time I start asking about race. I wonder how long a thread titled "Jungle Fever" would last for real...wow! why?! this stuff is real...real good stuff, lol. well if it's taken down then i'll try and change the title to just "the jungle" next time...whatcha think? ;-)
Author muse08 Posted October 20, 2008 Author Posted October 20, 2008 Yes yes, let us not forget men and their love of boobies. What about your belly button? hmmm, not so much my belly button, but around the area...hips, etc. they may take this joint down real quick if i keep going...right KMT?
trubella Posted October 20, 2008 Posted October 20, 2008 im suprised a few key members that usually show up in the race threads here havent come in with their 'race-mixing is evil' rants. i think as long its drama free the mods wont mind. (we'll see)
