MissClark Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 So, I am 'sorta' dating this guy. He's funny, and sweet, and (in my opinion) physically appealing. I say 'sorta' dating, because I had asked him out in a mature 'let's go on a few dates and see where it goes' sort of way, and he took it as the typical 'high school dating' sort of way. I mean, I am a senior in high school, but he's in college! I didn't think guys still acted like that? It's just a little confusing for me personally. It's not that I wouldn't like to enter into a relationship with him, its more of the fact that he is NOT the type of guy I normally go for. He encompasses a lot of firsts for me, personally. He's 20, turning 21 in February. He's Hispanic. AND he's 5'3. Why does that matter? Because I'm 5'9. It's a little...awkward, to say the least. On top of that, he's REALLY shy, so it will probably be up to me to progress it any further, if I want to. I feel like a horrible person, because the height difference is REALLY affecting me. And I'm by no means racist, but I've never actually dated outside my race before, and it just is a little glaringly obvious how different we are (note- I'm a white). I mean, he immigrated here when he was 13, and when he talks about stuff, I'm sitting there like stupid child going "OMG, THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENS?!" It's just all very...new...and odd, for me personally. I'm trying to work out what I think vs what I feel, and I really am trying to dredge up some 'more then friends' feelings for him, since he seems REALLY interested in me. I'm not really used to guys being legitimately interested in me. And he's so sweet and a genuinely good person, not like the pathetic, idiotic, lowlifes I normally deal with. Opinions?
prettybaby Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Wow. No offense, but let it go and move on. You seem to have zero respect for him and zero physical attraction, and I'm sitting here wondering why you would even bother ... You're clearly not in love, and that's not something you can develop however you please. He makes you laugh and entertains you, so I'd say: keep him in your friend zone and call it a day. You'll be making him a favor too by not playing any games.
