Had a discussion with my friend, and she used to be against ruining friendships. Now, she says that she doesn't rule out friends as dating partners. I always thought that girls had two categories friends and datable guys. That was it. So, anyone who was in friend zone was SOL on ever becoming a lover to that girl.

What is your take on going from friends to lovers?

How many women actually fall in love with their friends, AND ACT ON IT?

How about guys who were attractive and potential partners that ended up as friends instead?

It happens men more. I think if you want to be more then a freind you have to start acting more then a friend and risk losing the friendship.

Only times I've seen women date their guy friends are when they are desperate, low on self-esteem, and have no other options.

Not saying successful RLs don't happen from friends first, but my experiences tell me when you're FZed, you're out...and the only way she'll see you as boyfriend-potential is when she's down on her luck, possibly knocked up, and has no other options for a man.

Basically the friend was a backup plan...a last resort.
