Okeydokey Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 met super nice guy about 5 months ago. he is shy (ie. most conversations are a struggle) and all of his buddies are very geeky in a charming way. we usually hang out every weekend (take turns suggesting it) and it is always in a structured kind of way (not by my choosing) - like the activity gets suggested mid-week and then we agree to confirm end of week. he always brings one of his friends as chaperone. once or twice i have suggested that the two of us hang out alone and go get dessert (something with a kind of romantic innuendo)... either he shoots it down with a big explanation of why and then suggests we hang out on a different occasion involving one of the chaperones or he takes about 10-15 days to recover before getting in touch at which point he comes back around flirtier than usual. we did go to the movies once just the two of us (his idea). it was nice, but does anyone have any idea about what the problem is here? and how much longer i have to invest in this before the ball gets rolling??? ps. we're in our late 20s - i know - it doesn't sound like it. and i'm guessing a lot of you will say give up and move on, but he's become my friend and i'm kind of fond of the dude - though obviously frustrated.
