PWSX3 Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 So how much different is dating now compared to 25 years ago? I'm not talking for the college aged but for the older folk?
Geishawhelk Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 Hmmmm... might be nice to consider a 'kinder' term than 'older folk'... I'm 52.... do I qualify.....? There's more pressure, sexually, I think. And I have to say, I think women are far more forward than they were in my day. Must have something to do with the 200 yards of taffeta and 17 petticoats.....

I'm not that much younger then you are and what do they say; you are only as old as you feel or something like that.
Geishawhelk Posted October 12, 2008 Posted October 12, 2008 I think there seems to be more pressure on people nowadays to find the perfect partner, immediately. think it's a symptom of our age. we're in a hurry with everything, and communication is so much faster, and more widespread... once, we just had notes, billets-doux and letters, then we got the telephone.... now....!! Strangely enough, with all the methods and means of communication literally at our fingertips, we don't seem to have managed to master the art of effective communication... We get more threads or posts on "What does it mean when s/he says....?" than most other subjects.....or "What shall I say?" or How can I tell him/her....?"
