Miranda1
See, that's like me. I grew up and went to school with 95% of the children being caucasian. I like white girls! I rarely ever see any white female/asian male couples in my city (I'm in Australia). Which is why I feel that meeting the right girl is even harder for me. I smile when I do see one!! Hey, I just saw an Anglo female and Asian male couple in Melbourne the other day! I know the majority of couples are Anglo male and Asian female (like my parents!), but we're a very multicultural country (as you know!) and you should just ask a girl you like out! Isolde
Yes there are. IMO race has nothing to do with attractiveness. I actually find mixed races to be the most attractive. Jessica Alba, Tiger woods, Tyra Banks... Studies have shown that people hang out and marry those that look a lot like them. Maybe unconsciously it's a comfort thing. I find it annoying (on a purely superficial level, of course) how many couples look like they could be brother and sister.
Isolde
I agree with Carhill. I don't see this happening beyond high school level... clearly people are inclined to hang out with those with similar interests and from roughly similar socioeconomic/cultural backgrounds, but you seem to sort of presuppose that all people can be "categorized" or "pegged" and most people can't. I think it would be a sad world if people were so unimaginative and narcisstic that they only spent time with those who were mirror images of themselves...whether for friendship or dating.
