There's this guy that I like. I don't know if he knows I like him or not, cause we are friends. I do know that he likes me as his friend, and we do have a lot of fun together, but we are never alone, we are always with other friends too. He is a super guy! He has also looked out for me... there was this other guy who was talking to me and he (the guy I like) came up to my car later and told me to be careful cause that other guy was a wolf (which I already knew.) Maybe he thinks of me more as a little sister I don't know.

 

Well yesterday night I did a dumb thing... I think. Was this dumb? I texted him asking him if he liked this other girl who hangs out in our group of friends. I think she likes him and it seems like he likes her too.

 

He texted back this morning "Anything is possible, but 4 now ____ and I are just friends."

 

So, my questions to guys, and girls can answer this too please...

 

1.) Do you think he knows I like him as more than friends?

2.) What does that exactly mean? I texted him back saying "I'm sorry 4 prying. Both you and _______ are wonderful people."He didn't respond, but basically his text means that yeah he's open to dating this other girl and does like her right?

3.) It hurts to see them flirting together and this text to me seemed yeah eventually it will happen that they will be together as a couple, and I wonder, should I spend less time with this group? I do have good friends in this group though and even this guy will wonder if I just disappear, and I don't want to cause a big scene just cuz I like a guy who likes someone else...

 

What should I do here? Sigh. Thanks

I think the guy said what he said because he doesn't know the context of your question - I mean if this girl is your friend and part of your group, he might have thought that you're asking for her, and so yeah if he even liked her a little he's not going to say 'oh no, I like you' because he doesn't know you like him and he doesn't want to burn bridges with this other girl (even if he's not that into her).

 

I think if you want some one on one time with him, you should just create a situation where its just the two of you. Don't do anything drastic, but just see how you get a long alone without having the group as a buffer.

Gracias ya'll. Actually, I would be happy for them if this girl and the guy I like do get together, because she is a friend and she is truly a great person, and so is he, and yeah I do want them to be happy.

 

I know there are other guys in the world and maybe he is not the one for me, it just sucks to like someone and then see that person and a friend together, you know? Especially since I am part of the group of friends and hang out with them.

 

Anyways, I am naturally shy and I get all nervous when he talks directly to me, and she talks to him and jokes with him really easily. Also, he is 6'4'' and prefers tall girls. I am 5'4'' whereas she is 5'11. We are both pretty (not meaning to brag here) but in different ways, so there are differences and I understand that everybody has different preferences in who they like.

 

Also, I do not flirt first with guys... I like agressive guys who flirt with me first and who I know they like me before I will even hint that I like them... and he hasn't hinted in a way I've noticed, so...

 

Do you think that it was dumb though for me to ask if he liked her? Do you think he will view me differently? I am doble nervous to see him tomorrow, cause I am afraid now he might know that I am interested, which is also not good timing because he knows that I am still getting over my X... life is complicated!

 

How do I get over this and not let it affect my friendships?

Men rarely say what they mean so I wouldn't put too much stock in his answer.

 

If he likes you, he'll let you know. Don't do things to pursue him, drop hints, or let him know how you feel. When a guy really likes a girl, nothing will stop him from being with her.
