I have all of these beautiful letters from my ex. They are hopeful and loving and say things like, "I am so glad you are mine." etc.

She is at school 20 minutes down the road, I have been in no contact for three weeks. I feel like sending them all back to her today...so she can see the bull**** that she wrote to me.

Help. This feels like a great idea to make her feel like crap.?!

Hey man. I know the temptation to have any sort of contact (and mailing something is contact), but you gotta stay strong on this one.

The problem is, is that she may not feel like crap, or even nostalgic. She may just be annoyed and toss them out.

I think I can say a lot of people on here have wanted to do something to get the ex to think about us (Making CD's of fav. songs, a letter, a gift, etc) - but those who have will tell you it doesn't make them come back, or maybe even feel bad...........it just pushes them further away.

So, the answer is, don't. Box up the letters , or burn them if you can't resist reading them.

hey the day my girlfriend broke up with me I know it was coming, and so I brought a box of our old photos and things she had said to me. I gave it to her and she just threw it in the trash lol. its kind of hilarious now that i think about it. but anyway, don't send that **** to them. its just gonna make things worse when you don't get a reaction. plus why waste money on postage to send them a letter?

Seriously though, get rid of those letters. And I mean put them in a dumpster, not the trashcan in your home.

It doesnt matter how she feels when she recevices them, it's about you. You still care about her, either in a good way or in a bad way, you do. Until you could step out of her, dont do anything like that. Sometimes although the ending is not expected, the memory is still worth cherishing, keeping things doesnt mean you still love someone. Just seal them in a box and put it wherever not that easy to find.

Me and my ex used to surprise each other with little cards and letters with nice little compliments and some fun, intimate comments. We talked about things we'd done together and what we wanted for the future, and we expressed how happy we were etc.

Then we split up and suddenly these letters were meaningless. They were fun at the time, but they'd served their purpose. Yesterday i burnt them and felt quite good seeing them go up in flames. I was going to put them in an envelope and send them back to my ex but what would be the point?

I have the memory of how i felt when i saw the letter come through the post, that excitement of opening it and seeing lovely handwriting and then sitting down to read it and feeling that great warmth that they brought. But it's gone, i can't get that feeling back from the letters ever again so i let them go, and it felt therapeutic.

Everyone agrees that it is NOT in anyone's best interest to send old love letters and pictures back to the ex.

Thanks for the support.
