Author All Star Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 why cant you just go to the clubs? That's not for me. The smokey air and I don't like to deal with people when they are drinking alcohol anyway. It's just not my crowd of people. I don't keep those kind of hours also. I'm in bed by 10pm. LOL
Author All Star Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 ]I'll mention that to my BF[/b]; I am sure he will find it interesting. Have you tried finding a guy on a subway platform? No, we don't have a subway. Everyone drives. I drive. I'm really surprised that you have a BF. No joke. I didn't expect that.

If church doesn't have anyone, i'll try taco bell. People do stand around and talk after church.
Geishawhelk Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 C'mon. I never said I don't believe in God. I do. I have a personal relationship with God and I don't usually subscribe to organized religious meetings. What this usually means is - "I have my own preconceptions of what I think God is like, and he's not like the God of the Bible, but I've made him all up to suit my perception, because he's largely a product of my own invention. He doesn't actually conform to the usual image, and I'm not into all that traditional Christian stuff....but I'm ok with that....."
Riley Freeman Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 OK. If church doesn't have anyone, i'll try taco bell. People do stand around and talk after church. my question is why is it one of the reasons your joining a church? and it seems to be one of the only reasons? i mean unless you going there just for God and your personal relationship with him then its really a waste of time its like going to college and saying "im going to find a girl" and oh yeah im going to get a education also

No, it means that when I used to go to church many many years ago, I found that there were too many devils in there and most of them were there to ask forgiveness for all the wrong they'd done all week. When the Reverend tried to kiss me on the lips, I was done. Speaking of that church, one of the members just published a list of all of the gay members b/c the Reverend is a open homophobic.
Scottdmw Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 I think church is an excellent place to meet people and in fact I meet most of the people I date through church one way or the other. Social events, choir, activities etc work better than just services. HOWEVER, I do think you should reconsider if your _primary_ reason for going is to meet someone. If you believe in the Bible, Jesus did say "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things will be yours as well" The point is using church for your own ends is not a good idea. What if you meet a devout Christian who then asks you why you aren't still interested in going every week _after_ you meet?

Just like if I had decided to join a ballroom dancing club. I would also learn to ballroom dance, but that would not be my main reason for going there. I think you get something out of every life expierence. I do anyway.

My Sunday's are free.
Moose Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 C'mon. I never said I don't believe in God. I do. I have a personal relationship with God and I don't usually subscribe to organized religious meetings. What do you know about my values? You may even attend church every day of your life and I can absolutely guarantee you that I walk a straighter path everyday of my life then you do or did on the best day of your life. Now that's a bold statement. Look....those who TRULY believe realize we are ALL as snow covered dung. Your statement of self righteousness is clear evidence that your 'personal relationship' with God isn't par with a True Believer. If it were, you would consider you and I to be on level planes.....you're busted.....
Riley Freeman Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Do you have a back up plan incase this fails?
Author All Star Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 Now that's a bold statement. Look....those who TRULY believe realize we are ALL as snow covered dung. Author All Star Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 Do you have a back up plan incase this fails? Yep. There are about 100 churches around me. I'm going to be busy for the next few hundred sundays.

I don't like it when they talk too much or call me dung. What the problem is?
Moose Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Nah, baby. No snow covered dung here. I guess you caught me. I TRULY believe I am not as snow covered dung. Yep. There are about 100 churches around me. I'm going to be busy for the next few hundred sundays.I agree, you're TRULY not snow covered.....I'll let you guess the rest.... Your original question was, "Is Church A Good Place To Meet Men"..... Your answer is, not if you're just there to find a man. You've stated that you're going for God as well, and that's fine.... I'm just saying that God should be the first in line when attending Church....if He isn't....then you're not only there for all the wrong reasons, you're playing with eternal consequences as well. (Thinking about when Jesus threw the peddlers out.....) Now, if you place God FIRST, and you actually did place your Faith in Christ....God promises to provide you with your fondest desires....including a GOOD man....
Meaplus3 Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 If you don't mind me asking Allstar..what made you decide that church is the place to meet someone? AP:)

I don't like it when they talk too much or call me dung. What the problem is?I'm sorry what I say turns you off....I'm certainly not speaking for the white man in general.... But in all honesty, in God's eyes....we are dung.....not just you....all of us.... Christ is the snow that covers us who believe in Him....it's metaphorical, so please don't take it personally....
Author All Star Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 If you don't mind me asking Allstar..what made you decide that church is the place to meet someone? AP:) Because there is a church down the street from me and each Sunday, I see a lot of very handsome men standing around outside chatting after church. A lot are with wives, but a lot are not and I see them getting out of there cars alone and going back to their carrs alone after church. They are permitted to park in the middle of our street on Sunday.

I happen to know alot of couples that don't always go to church together all the time so,just be careful of that. Now another thing here. How do you intend to strike up a convo with one of these men? What will you say? Will it relate to the service and church? I'm asking you a few questions to get you thinking is all. AP:)

Most church goes love talking about their church. Actaully, sometimes with that church when I pass by the memebrrs make convo to get me to come inside. I can ask them anything about the church. Such as what times is the service after this one?

Actaully, sometimes with that church when I pass by the memebrrs make convo to get me to come inside. I can ask them anything about the church. Such as what times is the service after this one? Alright. Now, by going to this new church is it a church that you believe in? What I mean is it in your faith? Because if you do happen to meet a single guy you could come across looking like a fool pretending to be a church goer and believing in a faith in which you simply don't. Also, keep in mind that many men do go to church without their wives I see it all the time. AP:)
