KRob18 Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I suck when talking to girls. I don't know what to talk about after the first minute or two then it becomes silent. So any idea how to keep a conversation going and exciting?
Trimmer Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I try to find something in what someone says that I might have some interest in, and then ask them questions that expand on that, and give them space to talk. Then if that brings up interesting common experiences or something like that, I can offer my thoughts. But I try not to dominate with my stuff - keep it balanced between talking and listenin. If you get someone talking about themselves, you can always pick and choose from among what they say to ask probing questions that expand the conversation further.
Disillusioned Posted October 5, 2008 Posted October 5, 2008 Trimmer is right, common interests are the key. Identify your interests, and find a group of people who share them with you. If you're bold enough, bring your own common interests group together if you can't find one.
