rod_in_gtown Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Over skype. I used to go on "skypecasts" every now and then and jump in the fray on political conversations, world issues, sexuality, alcohol, etc. and have met a couple of very interesting people over skype. Tonight, I was browsing LS and got a message from one of those friends and decided to chat for a little bit. After chatting we decided to get on the headset and ended up talking for over 2 hours. I told this complete stranger details of my life that I have never shared with anyone else, very personal stuff. Her voice was soothing and incredibly calm, and I think that's why I felt like I could trust her with my life... I now have this general feeling over by body of cleanliness and calm... And I also think I have a mild crush on this woman... too bad she's about 15,000 miles away. Have you ever confided in a complete stranger the most intimate details of your life?
gonetildecember Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 I wish I had a random stranger to talk to right about now lol
jerbear Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Have you ever confided in a complete stranger the most intimate details of your life? yep! Funny thing, the stranger is no longer a stranger. Got great advice and even made a friend.
whichwayisup Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 I wish I had a random stranger to talk to right about now lol Your wish is my command. Though you have to turn on your PM option.
jerbear Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Canadians are strangers when it comes to the story of life.
JamesM Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Yes, the first time it did not end well. But since then I have done so, and it has gone well. I have made a great friend who lives a couple of thousand miles away. No, I do not have a crush on her. The beauty of the friendship is that she can give me a woman's perspective about my life and marriage, and I can do the same for her marriage and life. Here on LS I have had the privilege of making some friends as well. Some are brief but helpful. Others have lasted as long as I have been on LS. Truthfully, if I go back through many of my posts, I have revealed ALOT of my life to many complete strangers...yet after three years, I don't feel that this is a Board of strangers but a community of friends.
John Who Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Sometimes it is easier to tell a complete stranger your life story, rather than someone you know.
djhall Posted September 28, 2008 Posted September 28, 2008 Have you ever confided in a complete stranger the most intimate details of your life? Not since I read The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I got very bored and depressed, so I went and plugged myself in to its external computer feed. I talked to the computer at great length and explained my view of the Universe to it," said Marvin. "And what happened?" pressed Ford. "It committed suicide," said Marvin and stalked off... Ever since I read that I've been afraid to!
Author rod_in_gtown Posted September 28, 2008 Author Posted September 28, 2008 HAhahaha! that's awesome... It was very much a relief. I feel light, I hope she doesn't commit suicide
