Hello All,

It's been 28 days since I found out about my STBXH affair, and kicked him to the curb (Tag my name to read all about it).

Of course I was heartbroken, but I'm on an anti-depressent that is really starting to work, and now have more good days, than bad.

I was so tired tonight. I'm disabled, and have had some health problems of late, so I spent half the day at doc's being a lab rat. I go into my bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth, and as I turn on the water brown green, gunky, chunky stuff comes up from the drain, fills up my sink and won't drain.

First thought, call STBX and bitch, and whine because he's a plumber and knew before he left that the sink was running slow, and ask him to fix it.

Then I thought no way, you worked as a plumber for 3 years, do it yourself. You don't have a husband to help you anymore.

So I got out my tools, took apart the P/trap, pulled out the clog, and 1/2 hour later the sink is draining fine.

Yea for me! I feel good about myself tonight. I can handle life's little quirks all by myself after 22+ years of having a husband.:)

Right on! you go!

I kinda had the same experience this past month with Hurricane Faye.

I live in Floriduh, and I needed to get the aluminum shutters up. I had never done it before and had no idea what I was doing, but I marched myself out there and did it anyway...albeit, not as good as he would have, but my windows were protected and I felt good about that.

I think that is what this whole site tries to teach us.

We can't pretend we're okay, and can handle life without our STBX's.

We have to feel it, live it, and march on as independent people. The whole idea of moving on is doing what needs to be done on our own.

We are mostly the surprised people left behind by spouse's, and doing for ourselves, what our STBX's would have done, makes us stronger.

We need to believe in our own capabilities. The coping capabilities we had before the STBX's rocked our world with whatever they did, no matter how long you were a unit.

We all hurt, we have rock bottom days, but we can make it on our own.

Handling life on our own in a good positive way is the best gift we can give ourselves, and our children.

It's hard out there alone, but we can all do it in little ways everyday.:)

First of all, its all relative.

The experiences of one or not those of another?

But in the end? It all makes a difference.

One of the most fascintating things that I happen to find about Sen, John McCain is that as a Naval Avaitor student he dove a Skyhack into Pensocole Bay, without knowing how to eject! He rode it to the bottom of the bay and then bailed out and swam to the top, All because he was too busy partying everynight he was too busy too read the mannual on how to eject?

Then he spent 5-1/2 years as a POW! :(

That doesn't make him autonatically callified for the Oval Office, but the man has been tried and tested! More so than his trials and tribulations

My point?

Suck it up and move on!

I am doing fine. I have been working so hard that I haven't had to much time to think.

I think that this is great and doing things like this does give you a wonderful sense of accomplishment doesn't it?
