And when I am dating someone or if he is, then we tone it way down, bc we don't want to hurt our R; it is easy behavior to misconstrue.

Kind of sort of. I have females I talked to and flirted with long distance before I met my current GF. I still chat with them and honestly if things somehow didn't work out with my current I would give one of those other girls a shot, but they all know I'm in a relationship now and have no intentions of cheating or straying. We still flirt a little, but then also talk about their love lives, new men they've met, and how things are going with my GF. I wouldn't carry things too far though since I am in a RL.

Yes, and I would say that is the case with most of my female friends. In thinking about it, if we didn't feel comfortable enough with each other to be able to do that in a playful manner, then I would have a hard time really feeling that they were much of a friend. Do many of you have people you consider real friends who are too formal or uncomfortable in your friendship to be able to engage in playful teasing or touching? (not caressing genitals or anything, but hugging, touching hands, arms, back, shoulders, face, etc.) How does that work?
