djhall Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?" Given that this is a dating site, on second thought I probably should have avoided proverbs involving birds in the bush... that could really throw the converstation off in a whole new, and very strange, direction! :lmao:
Lishy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Ok a couple of tips: Water:: Add kettle boiled water to your pot and its instant boiled water! Dating:: Find a man you like and boil him! at least he wont give you any lip or let you down! Both problems solved!!
lovelorcet Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Buy a water cooker, I think they are also called electric tee kettles as well. They only use 10% of the energy that it takes to boil water on a stove and are much faster. As for men, they will commit when they meet the right girl.
Nemo Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Buy a water cooker, I burnt my water in one of those, once. Still, I skimmed the worst of it off the top, and it didn't taste that bad.
Lishy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Nemo I seriously think I love you, you are so damned hilarious!!!!
Geishawhelk Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Not that it matters, but are these idioms or proverbs? I always thought an idiom was something that actually meant something else, like "pulling my leg" for teasing, while a proverb was supposed to convey a greater truth or wisdom, like "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush?" You're correct. Brushing things uder the carpet, walking on eggshells, building castles in the air, are all idioms. Many hands make light work, too many cooks spoil the broth, a stitch in time saves nine, are all proverbs. Get it right, people, these are important issues - !! No beating about the bush, there's many a slip twixt cup and lip, ya know!

Nooooo....they commit to and want commitment from what they feel they can't have! It's annoying as hell to the woman and safer that way for the man. I swear that every time I don't want commitment which seems to be consistent lately, they want commitment. SG, become one with the pot. Let the men in your life do the watching. They can darn well wait for their pasta!
manugeorge Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 A watched cell phone indeed never rings. I've experienced that too many times.
CaliGuy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I have found that by filling the pot with hot water from the sink first, it boils a lot faster
Lishy Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Errrrrr just boil water in the kettle (take 2 min) and pour it in the saucepan!
Krytie TV Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 All things happen as they will. How much time you choose to obsess about things will dictate how long it seems.
westernxer Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 I use a kettle... when ready it whistles to me.
