Believe it or not, I contacted a woman from an actual "Singles" group in my area. Not sure if you've heard of the "Meetup sites"

But, for those ladies here who are saying, "Hey, women aren't at meetup to have men hit on them!"

There ARE indeed Meetups for SINGLE people. Well, I had come across this profile of a woman I had met at one of the meetups...contacted her via email..and she gave me a real nice, and great response.....then....she mentioned she was indeed MARRIED.

Yes, you heard it...a MARRIED woman amongst legit singles.

I mean, don't ge tme wrong, she was being friendly and everything, and even was asking me personal questions.

ie - how long have I lived here....how long have I been with the meetup groups and so on.

It's kind of ironic, because otherwise....if they respond, an actual single woman IS short with me...or doesn't respond at all...but a married woman...hell, she is like an open book with me. LOL.

She said the REASON she was in thos emeetups, because I guess other people outside the group invited her to those "Singles" meetups. Which I found odd as well. Guess they liked her so much, they made an exception?

no, honey, the reason she was in those meet-ups is that she's up to no good and intends to cat around on her husband. Married women interested in being married do NOT get involved in that kind of crap because they understand it's not a part of their marriages.

Yeah, she's from South America...been living in the states for only 2 years...wonder if she's one of those "Green card" marriages...and the husband is never around or something.

I asked her, "Your husband doesn't mind?"

I had noticed that she brings a friend with her as well.

What's real ironic is...she has a friend that she brings along with her that IS single (as a +1) in the RSVP's....but her FRIEND never signs up for the singles groups....I find that odd.

She claims her friend is "too lazy" to sign up for the group.

or the friend isn't very comfortable getting roped in to shenanigans like this, but doesn't know how to tell the friend no.

in light of what you've posted, I stand by what I said earlier. She's up to no good, posting on a singles site when she's married.

Stay Posted...I'm finding out more juicy info...she speaks broken english, but she did "explain" herself.

She stated: LOL!! My husband probably have more singles meet up groups in his list than I do. Like I said, we were actually going to be single until a few days ago. Things changed.

So, they were "on the outs" so they decided to hook up with other singles while...to put it "Friends" style "On a break"??

Apparently, they were seperated and during that time they were BOTH attending singles groups.

Few days ago, they decided to work on their 2 year marriage.

I give it another few months.

Funny, she didn't even wear a wedding ring either.

I think in the last email she was kind of put off by my line of questioning, but I think as a single person , it's Always good to clarify.

Her: "I was invited to the singles groups and I joined a couple."

Me: "So you're married and you're joining these SINGLES groups?? and your husband doesn't mind??"

Her: "HE's joined more singles groups than I have, we were seperated and joined those groups"

Me: (Had to clarify the nature of what was going on in their marriage...I was wondering if they were divorcing or working things out...she kind of had broken English)

Her: "Yeah, me and my husband were seperated at the time, and now decided to work on that"

Then she said she didn't feel comfortable talking about this with someone she didn't know.

I thought, well, don't be joining Singles groups just because you and your husband are "Mad" at each other. <shrug>

I think she eventually got irritated with me questioning her ..but somehow the conversation flowed in that direction simply because I wanted clarification.

of course she's irritated – you're making her look at what she's doing from a moral perspective.

anyway, this doesn't sound like the kind of person you ought to be investing in a relationship with, because she has no sense of what the boundaries are!

OP, you're not investing in a relationship here, are you? Just having some fun, right?

Everyone, including different cultures, has/have different ideas about the continuity of a committed relationship. I recall corresponding with and talking to a couple Brazilian ladies back when the commercial internet was quite new and found their take on relationships to be quite different than my somewhat prudish outlook. Learned a lot :)

I've been in a number of situations where I thought the married woman shouldn't be there. NEVER would I ask them what their husband thinks, why he doesn't mind and stuff like that. We all know the answers to these questions already.

Take the situation for what it is and decide whether you want a part of it or not.

It's cool...she says she has single friends she can introduce me to, lol!

Way too many red flags to even think of connection with her OR her single friends.
