Gwyneth Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I'm now 36 weeks pregnant!!! I have an exam this week to see if I'm, well, dialated and so forth I can't wait!!! Any suggestions as to how to enjoy these last few weeks? I'm so anxious!
quankanne Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 :bunny::bunny: yea!!!! D-Day approaches!!! only advice is to rest up/take it easy while you can, because your little one's gonna keep you hopping, from what I've seen with friends and family who've had babies. Also, do something special for YOU – pedicure, manicure, facial, etc – as a pick-me-up for feeling like you've been pregnant forever
blind_otter Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Enjoy your sleep as much as possible. You won't be getting much for a while.
Frankasy Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Congratulations first of all. Have you found out if it's a boy or girl? Well do stuff that you won't be able to do anymore as a mom. Ummm, watch movies until dawn and then sleep late. Enjoy the empty space in the fridge for a few more weeks until the baby's due.
quankanne Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 otter, is that baby otter screaming his head off in your avvy?
Author Gwyneth Posted September 22, 2008 Author Posted September 22, 2008 I'm having a girl I've been getting frequent massages from a certain Sexy man who is suddenly in my life I look forward to that daily. Unfortunately, work has been stressful as I work in the financial sector, and I'm fearing I will lose my job.. **wiping tears away** Other than that, I am Really trying to just relax, take my mind off of things, and take it one day at a time.
Meaplus3 Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Sleep ,sleep, sleep.. as much as you can before baby arrives. Enjoy these last few weeks of your pregnacy. Best of luck to you. AP:)
bentnotbroken Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Look forward to being alone in your body again. Like the others said, get lots of sleep and as many baths/showers as possible, they get far a few in between.
Ms. Red Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I'm now 36 weeks pregnant!!! I have an exam this week to see if I'm, well, dialated and so forth I can't wait!!! Any suggestions as to how to enjoy these last few weeks? I'm so anxious! YAY! Happy for you Gwyneth. I was confined to bed for 8 weeks prior to my son's birth so, I don't have any ideas. I read everything I could get my hands on. I watched every video (pertaining to childbirth & baby care) from my health plan's Health Education Dept. And I watched a lot of t.v. I guess you could make sure all your comfy clothes are all laundered & ready. You will want to lounge around in them for a while. Good luck & happy pushing! LoL =^-^=
Jilly Bean Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 I'd make a big Costco run and stock up! You probably wont find a lot of time for shopping... Also, I would make frozen dinners for myself, just so that even when I was exhausted, I could microwave something hot and nutritious. Congrats!
bentnotbroken Posted September 23, 2008 Posted September 23, 2008 Epidural, epidural, epidural:bunny::bunny::bunny:
blind_otter Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 Epidural, epidural, epidural:bunny::bunny::bunny: Eh, maybe I'm biased because I had natural childbirth, but it wasn't that big of a deal. It hurt, year, but lots of things hurt, and my body was very capable of handling the pain. Anyways - if you plan to breastfeed, I recommend you attend a La Leche League meeting prior to giving birth - it can help to make connections with women who are experienced breastfeeders, as it does not come naturally to all women and some experience a ton of difficulties...plus it helps you meet other moms who have babies who are the same age. I already go to a weekly playgroup with my 10 week old son, but at this point it's more for me than him - though he enjoys watching the other babes.

It hurt......a lot.....times 2. My body is still in shock 16 years later(first time 22 years ago).
blind_otter Posted September 24, 2008 Posted September 24, 2008 5' mom, 9 lb baby times 2. It hurt......a lot.....times 2. My body is still in shock 16 years later(first time 22 years ago). It does depend on the mom, of course. One of our LLL leaders had an 11lbs baby naturally via homebirth, and she's quite tiny. I was in awe of her, I tells ya. I was just piping up in case g did not want an epidural - don't want to scare her. I was in active labor for 13 hours. I did take an ibuprofen when they were sewing me up, as I had to have a pitocin shot for my bleeding.
Author Gwyneth Posted September 25, 2008 Author Posted September 25, 2008 I've been getting Lots of extra sleep lately. Took a long nap after work yesterday, and today I am working from home, so I slept in. I want to try giving birth naturally at first. I'm not big on pain relievers or any drug for that matter. And no, I am not getting the father involved...

You might change your mind once the contractions really start to kick in. Please don't be pigheaded about it either - IF the pain is bad, don't be a hero and try to go without! Why put yourself through that, when you have a choice not to..
whichwayisup Posted October 6, 2008 Posted October 6, 2008 Any major contractions started G? I can't remember your actual due date, but I know it's sometime this month.. How are you feeling?
Author Gwyneth Posted October 6, 2008 Author Posted October 6, 2008 Any major contractions started G? I can't remember your actual due date, but I know it's sometime this month.. How are you feeling? I'm due around the 23rd, but no--no contractions yet. I am beginning to dialate, and the baby has reached 5 1/2 pounds as of last week. So my OB said she can pop out anytime between now and the end of the month. I'm hoping sooner than later Otherwise, I'm feeling wonderful A little cranky here and there. And I'm anxious!!! I can't wait to meet her
jerbear Posted October 7, 2008 Posted October 7, 2008 Hey Gwen, Congrats, lets see a pic when she makes her debut! :bunny:
Author Gwyneth Posted October 7, 2008 Author Posted October 7, 2008 Hey Gwen, Congrats, lets see a pic when she makes her debut! :bunny: We'll see...I'm not crazy about the idea of posting photos of my baby on the internet. But, we'll see
angie2443 Posted October 9, 2008 Posted October 9, 2008 I want to try giving birth naturally at first. I'm not big on pain relievers or any drug for that matter. There are many advantages to going natural. I had my last two this way and plan on having my third this way. If you are considering it, then research it so you're prepared when you go in. As far as posting your baby pics here, I think all newborns look the same and so wouldn't be worried about who would see them. Still, I wouldn't post my newborn's pics up so I can understand. At least tell us how it went and how much she weighs. I'm excited for you, good luck!
