nymoozle Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 [Posted in the Dating section because this involves girls thinking I'm interested in dating...] So, I don't really have problems asking for phone numbers when I'm interested in dating. In that case, if I feel a connection, regardless of how many long I've talked to the girl or what not, I feel very comfortable asking for her phone number. In fact, I just got a girl's number while waiting for a bus, as we really connected during the 20 minute wait. However, how can I easily get a girl's number in a way that she doesn't think I'm interested in dating? I know that one solution is social networking: I can friend her on Facebook, or wait to be friended, and then arrange something via Facebook. But it's slow, tedious, and people my age (21+) are using it less and less. The last time I tried to arrange hanging out via Facebook, it took days of messaging back and forth. Yuck. I want to use the phone. Ideas?
Tomcat33 Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Just ask for their phone number if you don't want to date them what's the problem?!?! I don't understand your question.
djhall Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 I think he is concerned that if he asks for her number it will be mis-interpreted as an expression of attraction or sexual interest.
Green Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 eah this is really one of those non issues you've turned into an issue! So you have no problem asking a girl for her number if you want to date her... but these so called women you just want to hang out with will think you want to date them if you ask for their number hmmm in my vast experience dealing with this I'm going to have to say this problem is all in your head
Prodigal Princess Posted September 22, 2008 Posted September 22, 2008 Yeah, this is a bit of a non-problem. Just ask for their number, and if you're paranoid about them thinking you're interested in them romantically, just say you prefer texting over emails/Facebook etc. Duh.
