Intellectualbrat Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Yesterday my boyfriend went to the Dr and she said he had strep throat and it was contagious, he told me to come over if I wanted to but that not to get near him because he did not want me or my daughter to get sick. I already had cooked for him and I said ok I will take you some dinner and he said OK. When I got there he was on the phone with his son, He whispered "why are you doing this I don't want you to get sick" I got offended because he knew I was coming, I just looked at him and walked away, he tried to stop me but I just left...He started calling after that like 18 times,and left 5 voice messages.. i did not answer, He got some of the dishes I have left at his house and dropped them by, he asked my daughter "where is your mom"? she said I did not want to see him..so he told her "tell your mom to call me when she grows up" He called several times after that and I did not answer...I text him and told him not to ever call me again..I did not mean it, Im just so proud and stubburn, I do realize that..Now this morning he called and I still did not answer....He has not called anymore..what do I do...If you read my first post you can see more or less about our relationship...I feel like if I call I'll be like lowering myself..Please help me, I know Im spoiled but Im miserable and I love him very much.
megapositive Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 Call him back. Sounds like you were a little over-sensitive when he said "why are you doing this I don't want you to get sick." I think he was just concerned about your health. And he's certainly tried hard enough to explain that to you, but you aren't giving him the chance! I read your other thread and it seems you suffer from low self-esteem, which can make you interpret innocent statements as criticism and rejection. That just might be the case here. Call him!
