Francesco Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 so i studied with my ex a few days ago. it was the first time we have really sat down face to face in a year. it went really well at first. we were both laughing and making eye contact and it really seemed like she had missed talking to me. i mean a 4 year relationship/friendship that ended so abruptly left us with a lot to catch up on. well the next day i heard she was seeing someone new at our college. somehow she forgot to mention that to me when we were studying...i guess she heard i found out about it so she tried to tell me it was nothing serious. its not her boyfriend, just someone shes talking to...but i saw them tonight eating dinner together and one of my roommates said they were walking around holding hands the other day. im just not sure what to think. i told her if shes seeing someone then maybe its best for us not to talk but she kept telling me its nothing serious, we can still talk and be friends and everything. i just dont know what to do. i can go back to being silent and ignoring her, but that seems kind of childish. any advice? i still think im in love with her, and its not a good feeling seeing her with somebody new, even if the new guy is someone i would ordinarily not worry about. i just dont know what my ex is trying to do. she wanted to study with me even though she was talking to this kid...and she said she would like to keep talking to me. its complicated. advice please.
complication Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 In her eyes, it isn't complicated. She wants to be friends with you and not lose what you guys had. Just be straight up - tell her you don't want to be friends, and see what happens.
