So I've been thinking about doing something fun yet subtle, my eyes are pretty dark and I would love to try something like brown or maybe even hazel (maybe gray if I'm feeling frisky).

I've seen girls with these and I don't really like the really obvious ones. I don't think I've seen many guys wear these but then again if they're very subtle maybe I just haven't noticed.

So, my question is for the ladies:

How do you feel about guys who wear very subtle color contact lenses? NOT the really bright cheap obvious ones.

I'd think: WAY too vain for my taste.

...and as a guy (I now, you asked for a woman's POV :D), it would be a waste of time if your goal is to attract a woman.

I wouldn't be doing it to attract women - I don't think I'm THAT shallow - but rather more for me, just something different to try. But I was thinking I'd get the whole "god he's so vain" thing.

Am I too young to be hitting my mid-life crisis at 30?

Just do what you want, do you think they are going to notice? I assume without them you would be wearing glasses or is this just contacts for eye color only? If the latter I think the vain part might come into play.

Yeah, I don't need glasses. I got Laser surgery in January. I'm humming "you're so vain" as I write this. :lmao:

Nah, what the hell, give it a try. Get a facial while you're at it, seriously :)

Rod - I dated someone last fall and the first time he slept over, he asked me for a spare contact lens case (I wear them - CLEAR, mind you - lol).

He took out his contacts, and they were this odd shade of teal.

I was completely and utterly grossed out. It was SO metro and I was totally turned off.

Guys with legs like yours do not need colored contacts. Leave that for those that need to try to hard... ;)

You're so vain, you probably think this thread is about you, don't you, don't you, don't yoooouuuuu??? ;)

Don't get the lenses. Please.

Yeah, maybe not such a hot idea if I like the girl, I was thinking more just to go out with friends... then again, I can probably do better things with the money.

Thanks hun, That's why I love you

Well, I am an actor so I do own make up and even know how to apply it on myself. but good point :p

I don't happen to personally know of a man per say that has colored lenses.. however, the teenage girl across the road from me got them this past summer and IMO they look fake... she looked better before the lenses. I'd say skip it.

AP:)

I wouldn't feel one way or another about it honestly. Whether or not they're fake looking or not. It's just another thing people do, like dye their hair or change their clothes.

You should do whatever you want to do. However, I would wonder if you were gay.

I met a cute guy... and I couldn't help but wonder how cute he would be with his OWN eyes. To me it was creepy. I didn't give him the time of day. I like brown eyes best anyway. But if you're wearing all sorts of funky colors on one of the most important places of your body... I would be saying "eek!" in my mind, even if I was smiling on the outside.

If you know of a type that is so subtle that I would not be able to detect them, and I found out about them later on, I would still say "hmmm."

U made your mistake by wondering what women thought. I say most of the time it looks weird, but some times its cool, and I've never worn contacts but I think it would be fun to try some color contacts on, not as a daily thing but once or twice

Heck, I would wonder the same too :lmao::lmao:

I used to work for an optical store part time when I was in college. I'd put a bright green lens in one eye, a bright blue one in the other, and go to lunch. It was great fun watching peoples' reactions.

No. I wouldn't like it one bit. I'd want to see your real eyes.

Well,

I guess it's settled. It's funny how people are quick to judge. It's ok for a guy to put stuff on his hair to make it look neat or shiny or well kept, it's ok for a guy to look tanned even if he did it by going to a tanning bed. It's also ok for a guy's skin to look great even by getting a facial, just don't tell how you did it. You'll be labeled.

As long as the final product looks ok, it seems that the means are better left undisclosed.

We say it's ok for a woman to have boob jobs, or lipos, or gastric bypass. and we say "well, if it makes you feel better then there's nothing wrong with it".

Women want us to be progressive enough to say, it's ok to wear butt enhancers and push up bras but the moment a guy wants to wear color lenses, then "ummm" or "he's gay" or "he's to vain".

I'm sure it's because we live in a society that thrives on double standards. It doesn't really bother me because it's not about the lenses per-se. It's about the underlying issue. You want us to look good, work out, shave your hair, pluck our eyebrows, look like a freaking calvin klein underwear ad. but taking steps to getting there is all of a sudden gay or too vain which reveals the chauvinist in you... women... *sheesh*

I would like it as much as I like doo-doo on the bottom of my shoe.

It screams high school himbo.

There are double standards, yes. BUT this contact lens thing applies to women as well. I think it's tacky and not very attractive (though, I admit, I've wondered what it'd be like to sport a pair of coloured contacts...to see how I'd "look"...but I honestly wouldn't get them b/c I like my brown eyes just fine).

I don't know about other women, but I am not into the eyebrow-plucking, chest-waxing metro dudes...they are just not my cup of tea. I find them too feminine and steer clear of them as far as romantic relationships go. But this is just me. I know other women who go gaga over such "well-groomed" men.

Mind you, I don't think there's anything wrong with the odd facial here and there (like say, a week or so before your wedding). Again, if he was booking monthly facial appointments and getting his nails done, I'd be a little concerned and turned off.

A man is a man, a woman is a woman. Never the twain shall meet in a freakin' spa. It's just too weird.

I usually wear hot-pink contact lenses, and I get hit on all the time. Lately I've been wearing black ones, but I'm not happy with the look. Although I am impressed with the way they scare small children. So cool.
