High Plains Drifter Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Anyone who's seen that movie and is of sound mind wouldn't doubt calling it rape... what else do you call it when someone throws down a struggling woman and forcibly penetrates her? I'm pretty sure that's by-the-book rape... Again, this is why I question the description: Rape isn't something I'd say is something anyone "clearly begins to enjoy."
High Plains Drifter Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I have to agree with Djam.... his movies are on the money... another example of an alpha male... is John Wayne... An alpha male is a man who knows himself... is confident in himself.. He is a man comfortable in his own skin. This confidence shins through. You can't fake this for long... you either do believe in yourself ... or you don't. An Alpha male.... Needs no one... but only desires to be around someone... (big difference) He is a man who can take charge any time... but does not need to. He takes ownership for his own actions... and does not blame others. If things go wrong... he does something about it in a positive way. He makes a contribution... and does not take away... without giving something back. Dedication, integrity, honour, curtisey.... and self respect are all trademarks of a real Alpha male. This is a fantastic description: Bravo.
Green Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry movies (I wonder why I thought of Clint?) You could watch the movie Alpha Male haha but its more about a guy faking it who gets in deep sht by acting tough... his gf the movie is really hot though

Scottdmw Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Consider looking for examples of _great men_ not alpha males, and trying over time to emulate them. Things like integrity, character, courage, etc. You can't fake it but you can acquire it over time if you want to enough.
johan Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Watch the Paul Newman character in The Long Hot Summer.
paddington bear Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 George Clooney in Out of Sight. Confident yet vulnerable. Silly at times yet cool. Crazy about the Jennifer Lopez character, but yet never needy.
The Collector Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Bugs Bunny is alpha. Daffy Duck is not.
paddington bear Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Bugs Bunny is alpha. Daffy Duck is not. Ha ha! Too true! It's the coolness factor isn't it?
jerbear Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Bugs Bunny is alpha. Daffy Duck is not. I was just about to suggest some animated characters like the dwarfs, a prince, a beast, and of course a sea god with a trident.
The Collector Posted September 15, 2008 Posted September 15, 2008 Ha ha! Too true! It's the coolness factor isn't it? Yeah, cool as in cool-headed especially. I always thought Jerry Seinfeld and George Costanza were a lot like Bugs and Daffy too.
Trialbyfire Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Pepe le pew's technique really stinks. Just check out how the little kitten reacts.
jerbear Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Pepe le pew's technique really stinks. Just check out how the little kitten reacts. Something I've found that might work... note the title. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLrF-IwF2hk&feature=related But pepe is "Odor able"
Green Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 hahah I watched it and then some others... he always kind of gets her in the end
Green Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 MAD MEN on AMC is probably the best example Don Drapper
paddington bear Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Pepe le pew's technique really stinks. Just check out how the little kitten reacts. I LOVE Pepe le Pew!!! That cat didn't know what she was missing.
jerbear Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I LOVE Pepe le Pew!!! That cat didn't know what she was missing. Penelope does get him in this, so he really does not stink. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyGwyNl6r-A&feature=related
Green Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 I LOVE Pepe le Pew!!! That cat didn't know what she was missing. she actualy ends up with him in one way or another at the end of every ep. I mean the one jer posted theyre on a heart island togather... then I watched another one just for fun and he ends up chasing her into a dark tunnel that says sealed off
Trialbyfire Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Pepe = crazy stalker technique alpha = assertive, dominant male behaviour Get it right peeps!
paddington bear Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Pepe = crazy stalker technique alpha = assertive, dominant male behaviour Get it right peeps! He's just misguided, she's black and white like him. Probably reminds him of his mother...
carhill Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Do alpha males believe in marriage counseling? Why? The example I provided likely would but I've seen many here whom I have my doubts about
Trialbyfire Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 He's just misguided, she's black and white like him. Probably reminds him of his mother... Haha...why does a certain member name come to mind? It's always the woman's fault since she's giving him mixed signals. In running away hell bent for leather, showing complete and utter disgust and terror, she's playing hard to get and encouraging his pursuit. If and when he completely captures her, she'll put on her knee pads and show him some real traditional female behaviour. Wow, you're right, he's showing the ultimate in alpha behaviour!
paddington bear Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Ha ha! Trilbyfire. Pepe it is, the ultimate male alpha character. Actually, more valuable than alpha males in movies to emulate would be those characters never to copy. Knowing behaviour to avoid is maybe easier than trying to live up to something. That said...I'm trying to think of someone appropriately terrible.... PB puts thinking cap on....
paddington bear Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Characters to avoid. Tony Soprano...the excess weight, the white vests, the affairs (why do women fling themselves at him??), the killing people without remorse and the endless dreams that 'mean' something... Tom Cruise in...anything. Particularly in Legend...all that I'm a forest innocent, and dog-like head cocking to one side...bleurghhhhhhh that's all I've come up with so far... apart from all the obvious Adam Sandlereque characters who are supposedly endearingly funny while actually being incredibly irritating
