Ok, so I contacted this 8at8 girl I met a while back. I sent her an email (she gave me her email address and her phone number) Telling her that I really liked meeting her and if she would like to get a drink sometime, and send her my phone number.

I get a reply back from her a few days later saying that her summer is over and that she's a little bummed and that her grad school classes have started again and that they seem to be taking a hold of her schedule but that she would love to grab a drink sometime.

So I emailed her back and I ask her how is her friday looking, and if it works for her to get a drink.

This was on Friday last week. It's now Tuesday evening (4 days later) and still haven't heard back from her. I'm tempted to give her a call but I'm not sure if I want to push it or wait until she emails me back.

Friday seems like a "datey" kind of night and maybe the "drinks" idea seemed a little too casual for her? Given that we met at a dinner event.

My gut tells me that she likes me from our interaction the first time we met, and that I should just go ahead an call her. Anyone thinks I should just follow my own advice and be patient?

Well her school did just restart so that could be why she didn't get back to you yet. I say wait just another day and then try giving her a shout...there's absolutely no harm in that, but if she gets flaky and doesn't get back to you, then move on.

good luck

You emailed her on FRI asking her out for the same day?

Bleh.

Perhaps she was offended by the last minute invitation? I would be.

Call her once more, and if no response, then move on.

Oh no, I specified the following friday, I was giving her a week's worth notice. I told her I was in NY for the weekend for my sister's wedding and that I would be returning Sunday.

c'mon JB give me SOME credit, I know better than ask on the same day.

Oh, ok. Easy there, hot legs... ;)

Well, if it was clear you meant this week, then I would wait until tomorrow, give her a call, and if no response, then move on. Busy is one thing, but dismissive is just rude.

:lmao: I liked your other avatars better, the lips or the legs ;)

Well, I started second guessing myself so I just went through my sent emails on my phone (I was out of town) and I can't find any messages to her since my first email... maybe I'm going crazy? I could've SWORN I invited her out. But maybe I just thought about asking her out but didn't actually do it...

Anyway, I just sent her a short message telling her I just got back from NY and asking her if she had plans for friday and if she'd like to go out for drinks or perhaps dinner.

It helps to know reality from our dreams before posting love problems. lol

Since you are just writing her NOW, I am certain she will respond favorably. :)

Okay- Laughed my ass off!

Highjack- is it weird that it's 2am and I'm totally engrossed in Star Trek Deep Space 9? I think it's the Bendryl?

Okay- back to your date. Today is Tuesday.... So that's good notice.

Drinks and possibily dinner huh??? I think you like this girl.

The correct thing for her to do is to respond tomorrow- Thursday morning at the latest. the general rule is that if she can't make it- and she is interested... she will suggest an alternative day. If the interest level isn't there, she either won't respond (uncool, but it happens) or politely decline without suggesting another night she is free.

But hey- has she seen your legs?

If so- how could she say no to a date.

I do like her, I don't feel I got to know her very well at the initial date but she was very cute and nice. She's from somewhere in the mid-west and from a large family (I think she has 5 or 6 siblings). She's also into running and seems to be pretty active which I like.

I was wearing jeans so she didn't see my legs :lmao: but I think I was looking pretty spify that night.

Wow... I had already given up on this girl. I got an email from her about an hour ago. She apologizes profusely for not responding sooner but has been very busy with school and can't check the email at work.

She sent me her school schedule and said it's ok if I call during class because she has the ringer off.

She apologized again for missing me on Friday but would still be interested in getting together.

:lmao: get this! her name is Jen too!! :lmao: :lmao:

Methinks you've got a thing for Jens!

Why would you call her in class, knowing she's in class, knowing that the ringer is off?

Good on ya, Rod! Keep us posted!

I asked her to let me know when it was a good time to call since I didn't want to have her phone ring during class.
