"player"

That's a ridiculous assumption. Romantics are not all "players." If a person makes a habit of prejudging other people in your fashion, then they should be prepared to live a very one-dimensional life.

Read the thread.. She is the one that kept saying "I am sure he has a woman in every port"

So maybe you should give TBF your excellent advice.

TBF,

If you think that this guy is not serious relationship material, a player or not on a par with your values (and I believe you because you are smart and can probably pick up on these types right away) BUT you still want to have a hot night with him, just do it in the "slam, bam, thank you mam" fashion that men employ all the time.

However, the fact that you are looking into his background indicates,to me at least, that you may already be, on some level, a bit too smitten with him, more than you may realize. If there is any truth in this, then, you might want to rethink the situation before deciding to get on board.

When one wants to have a little fun and nothing more, one doesn't bother to run background checks or collect info on the other person. ONSs are just that, a one time deal. I am all for them. Great "sex therapy' as I call it.

Another thing to consider is the fact that he is your neighbout so pulling a "hit and run" won't be that easy. It's like "doing" someone from the office. It could get sticky.

At any rate, relax and enjoy your evening out with this guy.

That's when a pack of those moist wipes come in so handy. Highly recommended.

I think some people are just jealous that TBF is going out with a movie star :p

A handsome, charasmatic, screen idol :p

Ok, maybe not a bona fide star yet, but on the rise (insert joke here, Nemo)

It's exciting, and I for one can't wait to hear what happens.

Some people find it easier to label you, TBF, or put you in your place because they know that they would never have the same opportunities with women that a handsome actor has.

Have fun tonight!

While this whole thread has surprised me a bit, TBF, it also surprises me that you are defensive about the feedback from vonerik, tomcat, and others who are seeing this as a left turn from everything you believe in.

Maybe we're all projecting things onto you that aren't there, but damn it all if I'm not a strong person but got pulled under by the emotional undertow that was my ex. I was just taking things "a day at a time" with him, supposedly not getting emotionally involved because he was a 'bad risk'... but wham.

I find it really surprising that you would deliberately put yourself in a romantic situation with someone who reminds you so much of your cheating ex.

Hell, I also told myself re: my ex that you can't judge someone on such little info, give him the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure he's different, blah blah blah. And my first instincts were right the whole time.

Have fun but guard your heart.

This thread is like a theoretical exercise in stupidity. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

And with that note we will close this thread and move on to other topics. Thanks!
