On a more serious note, what, if anything, does this say about the girl's interest level? I'm talking about the holding hands part of course... :)

I never knew who initiates the hand hold is a masculine versus feminine thing. If it is, I missed that lesson.

I'd NEVER hold hands with someone I wasn't interested in. :)

I dunnow I would think so yes that she is definitely interested in you otherwise why would she hold your hand? If a guy holds my hand he is definitely trying to send me a message so I would assume it is the same if a girl does it?

Alright. I know I'm just being silly. It's pretty clear she's interested but I can't convince myself this is happening...

You're right. I'm being ridiculous here...

So much depends on what was going through her mind. If she reached out to reassure herself or out of a feeling that there was safety for you both in sticking together, then that is kinda sweet.

I would bother me a little if she was thinking, "Oh my god, there is a lot of traffic. I'd better hold his hand so he doesn't get himself hit by a car." I find it kind of hard to feel sexy with someone who doesn't think I can cross the street by myself yet. :o

It was 3 am and not much traffic to worry about. To me it seemed more like "follow me this way".

You just REALLY like her and by the sounds of it so does she! ;)

We all get nutty when we really like someone it's not just you Joe. :)

Let's say a man and a woman are about to cross the street. When the light turns green, the woman offers her hand, the guy grabs it and they cross the street (traditionally, it would be the other way around).

What's your experience with this? Does it make a difference who initiates this?

Well yes the more traditional approach would be for you to take her hand instead. Maybe she just felt very comfortable with you & that's why she took your hand instead. You could always smack her hand away the next time & say listen woman, I'm the man! :D

Actually I did take her hand - but it was her who offered her hand first...

Next time I'll smack her hand and grab her butt instead! :)

I wont waste a good set of cuffs on a some lame azz cyber chat NO WAY. Live or go home baby. :D

On the plus side of cyber chat, it's the world's answer to a world over populated with too many children consuming are global resources. Maybe Al Gore also created cyber chat as a way to save the environment. :lmao:

Not sure why you would even ask, if you take her hand to cross the street and she doesn't pull it away after you get to the other side - good sign. If she takes your hand, better sign, your not with your mommy, of course she is interested.

Actually she offered her hand but did pull away after we got to the other side... I guess it would've been cheesy for us to hold hands any longer.

Why cheesy, it was probably just a test hold, I suggest you take her hand next time you are with her, not crossing the street and see if you get a smile. I am big on hand holding and even do so while driving.

Yeah I like hand holding as well. Driving a manual transmission makes it a bit harder to do in the car though...

Before the hand holding part, I actually nibbled her ear... And I did get a smile! :)

THAT'S the perfect time to get romantic!!! She was pro'ly hoping you'd throw your jacket on the ground right then and there, sweep her off her feet, and...well, you know ;)

Seriously, Joe, if you let your brain take over and make you believe there was some kinda (conscious or unconscious) dom-sub thing going on for her, it just can't get anything but weird and ugly, yes?

I hardly ever make a sexual move on a "first opportunity". I do like to take things slow in that department...

Yeah I know. I just can't believe it happened with this girl. I am still stunned... I'll try to gather enough courage to ask her out some time today.

Well, you had better START believing it, young man...and pronto! Cos it DID happen!! It IS your reality. No kidding about it. What is up that your brain is lagging in this matter? :p

Anyway, I hope you find your courage...I'm rooting for ya to do that. Good luck.

Joe, she's holding your hand, not your dick.

Now, if a woman leads you around by that, then yes, it's submissive on your part.

OMG *that* was funny.

It amazes me to see how people will over-analyze the simplest of gestures.

Heck, reading, I thought you were already dating ;)

What if you're both married.......to other people? ;):D

Personally, I think such actions should be spontaneous give and take by whomever feels the desire at the time. I don't read too much into it myself. If I did, I'd be in a lot more trouble than I already am.

Seriously, you nibbled her ear and now you are worried about the mental dynamics of hand holding.

Joe, you need a smack upside the head.

And one more point that popped in my head. Does she have kids of her own? Young nieces or nephews that she is around often? A teacher of young kids? Women tend to grab their hand as an automatic reflex, and that extends into our own lives. I took my dad's hand the other day when we were going to the bank and said "Run like a bunny".

Actually we are both single and about the same age. No kids in the portrait either.
