TigerCub Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Hey, So I've been dating this guy (for about a month and a bit)- we met online, he seemed really nice and sweet and his profile was good and he went on to mention how he's not like most guys and that he really likes to treat a girl like a princess--yada yada... so he came over a week from last Wednesday and things were good, he even brought me a rose which I thought was really sweet, we hung out and fooled around a bit and before he left, he was just super sweet, just kissing my hand and being really attentive. So I gave him a call last monday and no reply, then this weekend, I thought to myself, 'well he calls me a lot more than I ever call him, I'll give him another shot' - no reply... I just don't get it at all, I see his profile online, so he's there, but he's not even bothering to call...and that's fine, I'm not gonna chase anyone..but I'm just SO Confused!...I've never had that done before, where the guy is super sweet when you last see him and then that's it, no call back, no break up, no 'oh, I met someone else...' nothing... I'm not even upset about missing my chance with him, I'm just so thrown by his actions... I would just love some insight on why he even bothered to be all sweet and ***** and then act like a douchebag? thanks
CaliGuy Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 My guess is he met someone else. Also, when a guy says "I'm not like most guys", he probably is. That's a front for trying to convince someone that he is better rather than proving it by his actions. Being a nice guy doesn't autmatically mean they have integrity.
Jilly Bean Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I agree with Cali. It doesn't sound like you guys were exclusive, so he was most likely dating others while he was dating you. You can't process this badly, though. If he's not totally into you, then it just means someone else is meant for you!
Author TigerCub Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks for the replies, and yeah I expected that we'd both be free to date other people cuz we weren't exclusive, but usually when I date people and its goes bad, it kinda happens on a sliding scale, that's why I was so confused because the last time I saw him, he was super sweet and brought me a rose and was all affectionate and stuff, I mean it just seems so outa the blue that he wont return my calls, but yeah definitely not sad about losing him...
Jersey Shortie Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 I agree with Cali as well. I have found when a when guy is "super sweet" right off the bat, it's kind of insincere(and personally makes me want to vomit but maybe that's because I'm from Jersey). He is being super sweet to "win you over", for his own ego, or to get something from you, not because he really wants to do those things to be sincere. You have to be careful with guys that are overly flowery and want to "treat you like a princess". It probably be equal to a girl saying "I want to give the right man lots of bjs everyday". It's too much too soon. Try to go for guys that come off more real. Getting flowers is always nice but it means more from a man you have been seeing a few months then it does from one you just met. And personally, I like a guy that isn't so eager to give it away like that. Make me work for those flowers.

While I agree with everything you said, if a woman ever put that in a profile, I am quite sure she would never be able to clean out her mailbox.
monkey00 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Ah the wonders of online dating... Well don't take it so harshly, he's just not that into you. I was expecting this post to be about some jerk mistreating a girl, oh well this is hardly anything.

Author TigerCub Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 Thanks all... Well I deleted my profile a week ago and swore off online dating (cuz all I found there were socially awkward guys), but if I had kept that profile - oh yeah that line promising nonstop bjs woulda been all over that!...- at least that way I'm sure I'll get the quality men
