I didn't say anything because I didn't want to embarrass her. Whatever it was, it wasn't musk or BO or anything I've ever smelled before. It was borderline overpowering. We were only in the car together for about a half hour total and I had my window rolled down even tho it was hot and muggy outside. I still find it strange that she didn't acknowledge it in any way. I may go out with her again but only if I'm sure she's taken care of the problem.

I absolutely love the smell of a healthy vagina but this was far from healthy. And it wasn't period odor. I know what that that smells like. This was far more offensive.

Methink she knew about it but was too embarrassed to say anything.. this is nothing.. only a bacterial imbalance in the vagina.. happens to most women at some point.

it could be 'sudden'... even after a bath or shower.. :o

Sounds like you are repulsed, yet cannot look away

Really? You will go out with her again? Curiosity? Or real interest in her?

Real interested in her. Other than this, hopefully temporary, problem, she has a lot going for her. I can be very understanding when it comes to the right girl.

Maybe it was BV? The right mix of body fluids can create a smell like dead and rotting shrimp.

Or, perhaps it was some sort of perfume that you are reacting to in a bad way? Some perfumes out there can be pleasant, but when worn with someone with conflicting body chemistry and smelled by someone with conflicting receptors it can smell like anything from feces to dead animals.

Try another date and see what happens.

I read somewhere that the sense of smell has a lot more to do with the "mating dance" and our level of attraction to others than we realize. Each person has their own individual "smell" to them, a result of their own unique stew of chemicals inside their bodies. On a mostly unconscious level, one's olfactory senses go to work when he/she encounters a potential mate, and it's a big part of the ongoing attraction. Sometimes it's a compatible match with another person's chemical makeup - and sometimes it's not.

We're like dogs, in a way.:D:D

woof! :lmao:

That could explain why the OP, Fritz the Cat, does not like the smell of the date... ;)

I once had a date with a guy that was so cute, funny etc. But he had a not agreeable smell to him. I figured out it was that laundry smell. I think it was because he would keep his clothes in a gym bag and change after he worked out or maybe kept his clothes in a pile, whatever. I only went out with him a couple times, then introduced him to a friend thinking they would hit it off better. She said the same thing. I really liked the guy as a friend, so I told him the truth. He still talks to me and he is still single.

This thread is halorious! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I am thinking that it could possibly be a yeast infection. The smell is far worse than period smell. And like Lizzie said it can happen suddenly.

Poor girl, how embarrassing! I would have cancelled the date for another night. I am sure she noticed.

Not the same but I once went out on a date with a woman who wore the most obnoxious perfume ever. Not only did it stink, but it gave me a headache and made me dizzy!!! And she probably thought she smelled great. I HAD to roll the window down in my truck or I would have passed out from "perfume poisoning".

Srsly!

Same here except throw cigarettes on top of it.... The girl I dated like that also left her sweater in my car.. it stunk it up for a week till a figured out her sweater was in the backseat..

I then put the sweater inside a bag and took it in the house to give it to her later.. it wound up stinking the house up so I threw it away after a day or so since we weren't really talking after I told her we didn't click...She got mad at me on the phone.. she also turned out to be a drunk...

Whew... Wicked Perfume and Cigarettes don't mix
