Saros200k Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 So I've been really trying hard to stick to NC as much as I can while in college with my ex, but she has a habit of always appearing on the same bus that I'm on, sitting near me, and trying to strike up conversation. We have mutual friends, and I'm not sure how I can avoid talking with her without looking like a spiteful ex and a jerk on the bus as well. As much as I'd love to hear about her life and have her be the focus in a conversation of 15 minutes (sarcasm,) it really isn't help me move on. Anyone have any advice (besides walking everywhere) or have been in this kind of situation?
EllaDerSpin Posted September 5, 2008 Posted September 5, 2008 You could tell her that you are trying to get over her and need to not speak to her for awhile.
citizen67 Posted September 6, 2008 Posted September 6, 2008 Wear an ipod - if she tries to talk to you - say "I'm listening to an important podcast right now, can't talk" and point to your ears. Smile while you do this.
0hpenelope Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 So which method worked? Did you tell her to back off or did you go the iPod route? Or did you do something else? I honestly don't understand dumpers who are affronted when the person they left behind doesn't want to talk to them. I'm assuming she's the one who broke up with you here... If she's anything less than understanding about your desire for space, then I would like to give her a boot to the head. I usually expect us femmes to be more sensitive to this because... well, we usually are. (if anyone gets my reference in the previous paragraph, then 5 dozen of your favorite cookies for you!)
