Hello,

What is your experience with/ opinion on Plastic surgery? I'm thinking of getting a nosejob one day and any advice would be really useful. Has anyone here done this? How did it turn out, physically and mentally? And so on.

Thanks!

I've never had plastic surgery, but I am all for people changing things about themselves they feel uncomfortable about.

One of my best friends had a nose job a few years ago. She says its the best thing she's ever done. Her nose looked perfectly fine to me but she had issues with it for years... She was a real wallflower and very insecure. Now, with her new nose, she is the life of the party and has really turned her life around. Funny how such a small thing made such a huge difference to her.

I think the most important thing is to find a doctor you feel comfortable with. My friend did a lot of research about rhinoplasty and different surgeons and went to about 5 or 6 doctors over the course of a year before deciding on who to go with. It's certainly not something you rush into.

Good luck!

I haven't had any major work done (yet - lol), but when the day comes that OTC and conventional methods stop working, then I am sooo going for an overhaul.

I think if you are the right place mentally, emotionally, and have a realistic viewpoint of how this will alter your life, then go for it! :)

Just make sure to really research your doc and make sure they have all the right board certifications. Plastic surgery isn't something you want to use a coupon for... ;)

Go for subtle, for sure. You want people to say 'you look great!', not ... 'you had some work done!'. Make sure your nose fits you. I've seen some women who have some terribly mismatched noses for their facial bone structure.

I've seen some great nose jobs, and some awful ones. I would check out awfulplasticsurgery.com to get a good look at what you don't want, and share that info with your PS.

Get the nose job, I waited 15 years until I felt comfortable with someone breaking my nose.

One of the best things I ever did.

I look the way I should have in the first place.

Nobody can tell I had one.

That is the way to do it, make it look natural.

Some women get the pointy ski jump nose...not my idea of a natural or attractive nose.

I'm glad you started this thread, WS.

I'm actually seriously considering getting a rhinoplasty myself.

I've had issues with my nose for years now. No matter what others tell me, I can't seem to get over it.

CanadaGuy, can you share more about your experience?
