Mending1985 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 In the spirit of the breakup songs thread below, I'd like to start one about the songs that make you feel better - cheer you up, make you want to move on and get out there and live life again! This is mine: Without You - The Waifs Ive been looking out for number one Ive been stepping out with my friends I dont have to justify what I have done I dont have to answer to anyone I put my body on the line Take a step out of my mind Life takes on a different veiw without you I feel energized like I was young I have not felt this way since we began I re-evaluate my future plan Time to free myself from your command Theres no need to compromise Ill do what ever I decide no one else to spoil the view - without you I dont care if I ever touch the sun I dont care if the whole thing comes undone Everyday to me is a surprise I dont care if it leads to my demise No restrictions now Im free No black clouds hanging over me I think I like this view without you
Meaplus3 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 This song always lifts me up. Don't Worry Be Happy. Here's a little song I wrote You might want to sing it note for note Don't worry, be happy In every life we have some trouble But when you worry you make it double Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy now Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy Ain't got no place to lay your head Somebody came and took your bed Don't worry, be happy The landlord say your rent is late He may have to litigate Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy Don't worry, be happy, Don't worry, be happy
LateBloomer Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 'nuff said Original video ... has nothing to do with the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WG294M_kYWM Acoustic: Lyrics: I am a one way motorway I’m the one that drives away Then follows you back home I am a street light shining I’m a wild light blinding bright Burning off alone It’s times like these you learn to live again It’s times like these you give and give again It’s times like these you learn to love again It’s times like these time and time again I am a new day rising I’m a brand new sky To hang the stars upon tonight I am a little divided Do I stay or run away And leave it all behind? It’s times like these you learn to live again It’s times like these you give and give again It’s times like these you learn to love again It’s times like these time and time again
Author Mending1985 Posted September 1, 2008 Author Posted September 1, 2008 Was listening to this song this morning - don't know why but it always picks me up Hook Me Up - The Veronicas I'm tired of my life. I feel so in between. I'm sick of all my friends, girls can be so mean I feel like throwin’ out everything I wear I'm startin’ over new, Coz I’m not even there. Sometimes, I wanna get away some place, But I don't wanna stay too long. Sometimes I wanna brand new day, Try to fit in where I don't belong Hooooooooook hook me up. I wanna feel the rain in my hair. Hooooooooook hook me up. Where should we go I don't even care. Anywhere is good enough. Hook me up. Hook me up. I like the lights turned out, the sound of closing doors. I’m not like other girls, who always feel so sure. Of everything they are, of what their gonna be. Sometimes I'm just a girl stuck inside of me; of me Sometimes i wanna disappear some place, but I don't wanna stay too long. Sometimes, I'm feelin’ so alone, Tryin’ to fit in where I don't belong. Not gonna crash and burn, I'm gonna find a way, Nothin’ left to say

tensor Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 I tend to go louder, angrier with my music. That way I drown things out, get more focused on what I need to be as opposed to what I want. I submit Papa Roach's "Take Me" Take me and let me in Don't break me and shut me out Chorus: So take me and let me in Don't break me and shut me out I lit my pain on fire and I watched it all burn down and now I'm dancing in the ashes and there's no one else around Because I wanna be a part of something This is just a story of a broken soul Hook: As days go by, my heart grows cold I can't seem to let this all pass me by So take me and let me in Don't break me and shut me out I'm burning in the heavens and I'm drowning in the hell My soul is in a coma and none of my friends can tell That I'm reaching out and getting nothing This is just a story of a broken soul As days go by, my heart grows cold I can't seem to let this all pass me by So take me and let me in Don't break me and shut me out So take me and let me in Don't break me and shut me out Don't shut me out Does anyone around me feel the same Just put your fist up and vent your pain Does anyone around me feel the same Put your fist up and vent your pain Does anyone around me feel the same Put your fist up and vent your pain Does anyone around me feel the same Put your fist up and vent your pain As days go by, my heart grows cold I can't seem to let this all pass me by So take me and let me in Don't break me and shut me out So take me and let me in Don't break me and shut me out As days go by, my heart grows cold I can't seem to let this all pass me by Take me Don't break me
ed-205 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 How about "I Saw The Sign" by Ace of Base? Then, there's my personal favorite, the "Machine Gun" song by Bang Sugar Bang... "If I could be anything, I'd be a Machine Gun, 'coz every time I look at you, I'm sorry I don't own one..."
Author Mending1985 Posted September 2, 2008 Author Posted September 2, 2008 I like the sound of that one ed

sedgwick Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Ooo, how about Extraordinary Machine by Fiona Apple? I really love that one lately. So much so I'm making up a bellydance to it. It has a verse that perfectly describes my ex: "I notice that my opponent is always on the go and Won't slow down, so's not to focus, and I notice He'll hitch a ride with any guide As long as they go fast from whence he came But he's no good at being uncomfortable so he can't stop staying exactly the same." Also No Longer a Sweetheart of Mine by Southern Culture on the Skids and Lovesick Blues by Hank Williams Sr.
0hpenelope Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Most Reggae songs are feel good songs to me. Not like Sean Paul or the ones from Wayne Wonder with crude language. Just summery, feel-good Reggae. Pete Andre's a good example. Also: Beach Boys Dove Shack's "Summertime in the LBC" Good Charlotte's "I Don't Wanna Be in Love" Keep those love songs as far away from me right now as possible, thank you.
