Brady_to_Moss
Dont know where to post...Do girls get turned off by this. Its amazing. I am 6'1 and only weigh 154 lbs yet i have a big like beer gut. Arms and legs are thin as hell...why does the weight just go to my stomach?
tranceguy
I don't get women's thought process on the weight issue in general. I'm a 5'11 175lb guy with maybe 12% body fat. To my standard, I call that built(I got to the gym 5 days a week). Now my chick friends I go out with from time to time call me, skinny. Now back track to 2 years ago, I was probably 185, with 21% bodyfat *damn freshman year of college*, and no one called me skinny, I did sometimes get the "Packing on some pounds there huh". It's a give and take situation, I do get more action with being my current state now, but I am sure its a confidence issue because my prospective is much more positive when I have my body built the way I currently do. vertigocidic
I'm dating a guy whose overweight, but honestly? The great type of girls would not be bothered by your beer gut. If anything, it's the shallow, unworthy bitches that will have a problem with it. But who cares, right? And you can trust me on this, I am a pretty average-weight girl who would love anyone reguardless how they look like.
likestolaugh
...and here comes the army of people who say it doesn't matter what someone looks like, but then will post in another thread that physical attraction is so so important...
tranceguy
Ya it's useless, so many different school of thoughts on the situation. I've seen ass ugly guys with amazing girls, and the kicker was their personality. They had no money, or status. Then you get the *orange county* syndrome. Where the guy must have a high status on the social ladder of life. I find Lindsey Lohan ugly, and find Fergie a perfect woman. <-----That example proves 6.3 billion people out and about in this mantasmagorical blue planet, there are 6.3 different taste in people. Except Matthew Machonohey <---spelling is wrong, every women I've ever met likes that play boy.
Star Gazer
It would bother me IF the guy had a gut AND was not physically active (working out, recreational sports, etc.). If he was active and had some meat on him, no prob. But skinny arms and legs and a gut tells me you're not active...right?
Jilly Bean
I'm not turned off by a guy who has a pooch, provided he is a little thick all over. Rail thin with a beer gut would be a total turn-off, sorry to say. I don't like thin men to begin with, so adding a pooch would not be a nice accessory. Brady - have you considered weight training? Physical attraction? Hun, an unattractive person can have loads of girls wanting him because he might have these aspects in himself- personality, confidence, and how he carries himself. If he's a drop dead gorgeous guy, but he's an *******/really introverted, humble guy, then yeah, nobody will date him. Or whoever does would just want his bod and then it's over. KinAZ
My ex was always a Super Pretty Boy. You couldn't pinch an mm off of him his body was so hard. And while it was "ideal" especially in my teens, after awhile it seemed, I don't know, just too much or something. Not that it was a bad thing, and not to knock his choices, but... just not real enough or something. Yearsssss later, his age started catching up with him like everyone else. And he honestly looked sexier to me with SOME body fat. lmao Everything was still good, but he had a little extra in the waist, and I was like "aaaawww that's so cute! he looks like a man now!" He doesn't have what I would call a gut, but there are some so-called imperfections that plenty of people admire.
CaliGuy
Skinny with a beer gut? Do you drink a lot of beer or sodas? Do you work out?! I would suggest: a) Lots of sit ups. b) Cut the sugary foods, alcohol. c) Start working out a lot. At your age, it will take a while for your metabolism. And Jilly, I guess I am not your type. I am slim but not super skinny, toned/atheletic and a flat stomach. About 10% bodyfat last time I had it checked. The funny thing is people think I am skinny until I am unclothed. It's just that I am small boned. Meh. I look good naked, that's what matters

Well, types like Baller - husky, solid, football player bodied men, or like the cop - 6'2", 250 - all muscle, built like the Michelin man. And you should walk around nekkid more then, Cali. Your neighbors will ove it.

Walk
Can you two rent a room or something? I'm gonna gag on my coffee if Caliguy tries to sell himself to Jilly one more time. Not that it isn't cute... Guts on guys can be attractive. But he has to be able to carry it well. Usually that requires a bit more width to his frame, and muscle structures to off set the chub. Thin arms and legs with a gut isn't very attractive. But we're talking first impressions here. Having a gut won't stop someone from pursuing a relationship with you if they aren't focused solely on the physical aspects. Well, unless your 5 foot tall, and have a gut that looks like a full grown woman was surgically implanted into your abdomen. Actually, there were some studies done that discussed the distribution of fat based upon the types of foods you eat. I've forgotten most of what it said, but it was saying that for women a diet high in bad fat would store excess calories in the belly area, whereas a diet with healthy foods (just too many calories) would distribute along the hips and leg region. I'll have to look that up again... But it was interesting, and based on my own studies (eating poorly) I have determined it is correct.
yongyong
I am sorry to say this but if you are skinny but have a belly like that you will look like an E.T If you have a belly and are chubby at the same, there are some girls who like this because they feel you like a teddy bear. now stop complaining and hit the gym

Not that it isn't cute... I'm sure she's cute, just not my type. I just like giving her a hard time, metaphorically speaking, of course. Guts on guys can be attractive. Sugary foods, alcohol, etc tend to go right to the gut, especially on men, regardless of age. If he's working out, cutting the sugar and carbs then the gut will go away. Of course, it could be hereditary.

trubella
i used to have a fwb who had a gut, i could never get passed that when he would take his shirt off. needless to say i let him go. it does bother me.

Arms and legs are thin as hell...why does the weight just go to my stomach? 6'1, 154lbs, and you have a beer gut??? Only way that is going to happen is if the rest of you looks like you haven't eaten in 3 months. either that or what you consider to be a "big like beer gut" is a slight pooch. You need to start getting more protein and lifting weights. The more muscle you have, the more energy it takes to upkeep them. and that will come off your gut. As far as a gut being a turn off to women, yes, it is. But as men we are suppose to look past a woman's weight and look at her inner qualities.

serialgf
i think a beer gut on a skinny dude is a total turn off i'm into skinny guys i've only dated one guy with a gut and he had a massive chest to make up for it it took me a little while to get used to a meatier guy but it actually ended up working out nicely.... specifically about a beer gut i would feel more concerned that you drink so much and for so long that you were able to develop it more than what it actually looks like... Arms and legs are thin as hell...why does the weight just go to my stomach? That is amazing. Improve your diet and/or start working out your core and that gut will go away. I do abdominal/core exercises every other day, because that is the first place I gain weight. I think women are a bit more accepting about things like that, though I doubt many would admit to being turned on by a beer gut. Generally speaking, guys tend to store any extra weight in their guts, women in their butts. It's just our genetic predisposition. That's why generally when you see fat women they usually have giant hips and fat men usually look like they are 8 months pregnant and about to give birth.
javierserventez
the opinion that "it shouldn't matter what your physical appearance is" should be true. here's the thing - you don't have to be an adonis, but women appreciate a man that takes care of himself. a fit man is more attractive in nearly every female's opinion than one who is not. not only does exercise make you look better (lose the gut), but it will make you feel better. And although it SHOULDN'T matter what you look like, if you never give yourself a chance for a girl to be interested just because you don't want to eat a little healthier and exercise a bit, you might miss out on a lot of potential catches! shadowplay
To be honest, yes, it would bother me. I think you might be best off losing more body fat to get rid of the gut and simultaneously working out to build up muscle on the rest of your body (so your overall weight remained about the same or increased). But I don't know because you're so skinny to begin with that losing more body fat might be unhealthy.
2sure
Do guys find women with flat stomaches and perky boobs more physically attractive than women with big guts and boobs to their belly buttons? Usually, not always. Do women find men with fit physics more attractive than skinny with a beer gut? Usually. LIPO Its not just for girls.
prettybaby
I'll be honest: it's a major turn off for me. I like my guys skinny and fit!
