Humor: What's the difference between a dog and an MM (if any)?

A post by WF made me think of this...

1. The dog comes when you call?

2. Both do tricks...roll over, play dead, beg...

3. They'll love you forever...but growl and bite your hand off when you try to take away their bone.

Others? :)

LMFPAO!!!!!

The difference, IMO, is that a dog will be there for you when you need someone / something, but that MM will not be, in most cases. Also, dogs are sensitive to your feelings--they can sometimes see when you are not well and will symphatize. The MM unlikely will. This is just from my personal experience and from what I've heard dog owners say about their dogs compared to their own husbands!

ha ha ha - well let me see, my turn.......mmmmmmmmm......... thinking ....

dogs have 4 legs, mm have 2 legs - are 4 legs better than 2 ????

they both eat scraps if they are offered them, but the dog doesnt bite the hand that feeds it, unless of course your remove their feeding bowl grrrrrrr

oh but then there are the stray dogs that sniff around where and when they shouldn't - naughty puppies they are, very naughty.

and maybe if MM could lick their own......um......toes.... they wouldnt need to have A's ??? Dont know

I'm usually the comedian in the room, however I don't find this thread funny at all.

First there would be absolutely NO married men, without willing women. Obviously the converse it true as well. Not casting blame, stating facts. It takes two to tango.

Second, the whole (MM) moniker is a bit hackneyed. I was married and faithful for 25 years. A married man in every positive sense of the word.

Not a funny subject.

Officially, I agree with LD on this.

Unoffically, I have the kind of brain that just has to fill in the blank! So my contribution:

A dog doesn't expect you to be the one wearing the leash/collar!

I find this thread truly offensive.

Interesting how you focused on the MM...I assume the same analogies apply to the MW who has an A.

Dog don't...

1. Risk the chance of bringing STDs to others.

2. Have to pay child support.

3. Are not ruining marriages.

4. Have others aiding them in their wrongful acts.

5. Are not intelligent beings that have true conscious thought.

6. Don't have to sneak around hurting others.

7. Don't make vows and then break them.

8. Have more respect for their friends and family.

Too bad humans don't have the same respect for others and themselves like most do. At least they will snap on a owner if they are miss treating them and won't abandon you if they are treated well.

I think this thread reveals more about the issues of the OP who posted it than anything that could be said about MM's and dogs.

But hey, I guess that's what LS is for - to enable us to air out our problems before an anonymous public, and receive feedback about them?

Although it's anyone's guess as to what kind of feedback the OP is looking for here...?

Posted

OB, I think you're reaching here. Don't think OWL meant any harm by posting a joke to lighten things up, let alone show that he has issues with MP, let alone MM. It is just a joke.

Here is some feedback: IT WAS A JOKE.. a MOMENT in time in which OWL posted a SMILE.. so knock off all of the "deep insight".. Good Lord.. It doesnt ALWAYS have to be serious here, not EVERYTHING has to be a crisis, and not EVERYTHING has to be "figured out"... it was a smile OWL had on his face, and smiles he was trying to put on everyone else's face... SO SMILE

You're trying to dictate what other posters find funny and what they don't? Now THAT'S hilarious. Good luck with that approach IRL. I'm standing by my post. Owl has issues, and this is how he deals with them.

Well, the intent WAS humor. Pure and simple...given the common theme of OW/OM venting about problems in dealing with their MM/MW, I figured it could provide them a chance to have a bit of a laugh at the situation.

I have to admit...I'm curious as HECK as to what "issues" I have that this thread was apparently meant to bring out. Feel free to enlighten me sometime.

However, I WILL apologize to those offended.

It wasn't aimed specifically at all married men...I thought it was a rather well understood convention by regular posters here that MM typically refers to a "married man involved in an affair"...if I need to spell that out from now on, I can.

And absolutely this thread applies to MW as well...however I wished to avoid the inevitable next step in that analogy and keep this FUNNY, so I deliberatly avoided going there.

I think when Owl preceded his post with the "Humor" annotation he probably meant for his post to be taken in that vein. If you'd like to extrapolate on the theme or twist his words and meaning around of course you are free to do so. I myself was accused of "Ordering God around" so it isn't too difficult to see where you're coming from!

My 2 cents... A loyal dog owned stays close to home but a MM who cheats is a dog that roams!

Posted

It may be poor humor on some points, but I don't think Owl was being malicious.

The difference is that your dog lives with you, the CS is like the neighbors dog that comes for a visit for a little extra affection and treats.

Good one! Very true.

You're trying to dictate what other posters find funny and what they don't?

You mean like the same way some try to dictate to the OP of various threads what advice is good or not and which advice to ignore, all depending on who is posting it?

Posted

'Unlike a dog, at least with a married man someone else has to pick up all their ****.'

OR

'With a married man, someone else has already cut off his balls.'
