This is kindda hard to explain in general so imma give an example.

Lets say theres a girl in my foreign language class that i like and of course i wanna try to talk to her. I try to talk to her online. Now 2 ways of starting a conversation.

Way 1- First i start off casual like... "hey" "hows school going for you" "you like you classes?" etc and than go and ask her something like " by the way do you know whats the french homework, or hey do you know how to solve this problem in the homework"

Way 2-I start off with a "hi" and than go straight on to asking the question about the classes, than branching off to saying something like " so hows school for you so far?" etc

The first way probably sounds better because its always better to start with a greeting and all and than branch off to a question, however after i asked the question it would be harder to branch off into a conversation. But if i ask the question first and than branch off to the casual talk i can easily continue the conversation to other subjects but its kinda weird to start off just asking her a question out of nowhere, So basically im just wondering which appoach is better, cant decide

- thanks in advance :D

High school or college level?

Forget the asking about homework etc. Does she know you're name already? Does she know you enough to recognize you if she saw you?

Assuming the answer to both those is yes... then say "Hi how's it going?" then mention something you found ironic, or thought provoking, or interesting. Either in class or concerning the school, or even within the city. Then ask her out for (how old are you?) drinks, soda's, deserts, whatever. Preferably something that isn't a huge commitment from her. Like grabbing a couple of hot chocolates from starbucks together. Its less scary that way.

Or slide right from How're you.. would you like to grab a coffee or soda with me at (insert name of a beverage shop here)? If you do it face to face you get bonus points for confidence.

Be assertive. Be confident. Be self-assured. Worst she'll say is no.

If you go for the "how's homework" angel, you'll confuse her. You won't get what you wanted (I'm assuming you wanted more then homework answers, right? ;)).

Just be yourself. Get her to laugh. Practice your new language together.

Tell her that french kissing is part of the final exam and if she could be your partner:D

what ever you do dont bombard her with questions......
