MarieD Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Hello! I just wanted to add my 2 cents here! I had an affair with a married man a few years ago for over 3 years! We had an apartment that was furnished & that we were supposed to move into, but never did. The broken promises broke my heart. We had a love that was unbelieveable, but 'love just wasn't enough'. He promised me for 1 1/2 years that he would leave but never did. So for all you ladies out there waiting for your MM to leave, don't waste your time, they don't leave. You deserve better ladies!! If they cheat with you, they will cheat on you!! It was a heart breaking situation, but i am proud that i got out of it!
TogetherForever Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 MarieD, Strongly disagree with you. Some do leave. TF
TogetherForever Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 That is true. Some do leave. But did yours divorce his W yet, TF? That's one thing I would SO not allow to linger on and on. As regards that issue, that would be one "my way or the highway" situation in my book. Hi luvmy!!! No he's not divorced yet. Aug. 18th was 8 years we're together & still going strong. Nice to see you again lm!! TF
Author MarieD Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 TF Majority don't leave how's that? wow! Strange, u been together with this MM for 8 years & he's not divorced? Hmmmmmm he's still married!! Weird!! Now that's one situation I'm glad i'm not in!

xxxheartbrokenxxx Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 I recently read somewhere (I think it was in very helpfull book called Will He Ever Leave Her For Me?) that in one study it was found that only about 1% of MM leave to be with the OW, in another they found 3% do and in one more approx 10% did. So it is unlikely but COULD happen. Also read somewhere else that if they do leave they often end up starting afresh & get together with someone else instead of the OW!

And I bet most of the above is believed mostly by OW that didn't end up with their sweetheart.
A CHICK WITH TEETH Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 TF, I am not saying this to be disrespectful, but if your guy is still married after 8 years what makes you think he will ever leave?? That boggles my mind

blueberry Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 MarieD - sorry to hear you're so crushed by chasing waterfalls for so long. There are *some* success stories - although I concur, not in the majority. Still, please don't come on here and stomp on others who are in such turmoil - they are not in the same situation that you were in. People have to find these things out for themselves. And if someone like you had come along, years ago, and told you that your hopes were fruitless - would you have listened?
OWoman Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 So for all you ladies out there waiting for your MM to leave, don't waste your time, they don't leave. Mine did. You deserve better ladies!! Some of us prefer men to ladies. If they cheat with you, they will cheat on you!! Some, perhaps. But far from all. You sound very bitter from your disappointment, MD - I do hope you find true love somewhere, and have better luck with it.
GreenEyedLady Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 And I bet most of the above is believed mostly by OW that didn't end up with their sweetheart. Sadly, you're probably right. It is too bad that women can't just want the very best for each other (even if that looks different to some) instead of always finding a way to get a jab in. My fiancee and I are very happy and just living our lives, making our way, together. And nothing anyone can say will change that.

Lizzie60 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 If they cheat with you, they will cheat on you!! MarieD, Not always the case ya know. TF I agree.. they don't always cheat.. my first MM.. moved with me.. we were common-law for 18 years.. and I doubt very much that he cheated...
Lizzie60 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 and OP.. it's not the majority but some leave... in my case, she kicked him out after our 11-yr affair... cause he was too 'wimpy' to leave.. but I was too in love to see that... Now I have a few MMs.. and each one of them has a different story..

whichwayisup Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Ofcourse some MM leave, just like some MW leave as well, but if that does happen, it doesn't drag out, and the MM doesn't treat his OW like crap, hurt her and play games, make promises that he can't keep.

Yeah I mean statistically the chances of a MM leaving W to be with the OW are slim but it DOES happen & every situation is different, things are not as black and white as people like to think, there are many gray areas. I agree with WWIU though, if a MM or MW is going to leave they should just get on with it & not cause the OP pain & lie to them etc.
