its been 7 months since my ex broke up with me and im still not 100% over it, i just feel like sometimes i could have done something to get her back, like that feeling i could have done something more, but i know that sounds pathetic, i dont know why I am so attached to this girl, over the months it has gone better but why am i still dwelling on her?

Seven months sounds like a long time ... but it varies for everyone I guess. The standard methods do seem to work for most:

- NC

- lots and lots of exercise (seriously, it's like a ton of prozac if you blast it)

- keeping journals and lists, helping yourself sort out why it didn't and won't work

- working on yourself to become a better person

I'm not saying this is what you're doing, but it's possible to keep yourself stuck sometimes ... because it's all you have left and is the closest you can remain to the person. Professional mental help can work for some too.

Be strong. If you focus more on yourself and making YOU happy (without her) you'll feel better. Trust me. It takes some time though, like getting good at learning a new musical instrument.
