About a year ago, I met someone in school and thought she was quite attractive. We were both in relationships though so nothing happened other than a couple of walks and one-on-one discussions.

Then she calls me out of the blue and asks me out for drinks (she paid). Then we follow up with dinner (I paid). I drive her back home. She e-mails me the next morning to thank me for a great evening. I e-mail her 2-3 days later to ask her out on a date and she accepts.

Now, does it seem like she's interested?

Yeah. Do you even have to ask?

How old are you Mr. Newbie? With all these case studies that you're putting out there, either you're incredibly young and inexperienced, which is totally OK, or you can't seem to read people for $hit!

This girl gave me all the right signals:

- She asked me out

- She happily and promptly accepted to see me again

- She let me pay for dinner

- She flirted constantly

- She touched me

- She smiled at me and sustained eye contact

And just when I was about to go in for the kill, she says "I thought we were friends"...

I just wanted to show how the "rules" can be misleading. Everyone on this board answers using the "rules". But in reality every situation is different.

You asked her out on a date and she said yes. So yeah she was interested.

Clearly on that date she decided she wasn't.

It's nothing to do with rules just common sense. You asked for an opinion and got one.

The girl later on apologized for being so misleading. She knew she had given all the right signals and was sorry for the confusion she had caused.

We actually went out on several dates, many of them she initiated. She's just one of those clueless girls who ignore the standard rules.

She ended up giving head to some other guy in his car... :) She felt bad for misleading me, invited me to numerous dinners to "make up for it" - only to make it worse really. I did not invest a lot emotionally but just thought she was so friggin dumb.
