seminoles84 Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Does anyone recommend any books that are inspirational and could help with coping over the lose of a ex? I try to read self-help books like Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People. Although it's not about getting over a break-up.. it helps explain why people act the way they do.. and teaches you have to make that work for you. I just bought No More Mr. Nice Guy. It's in the mail! Any suggestions? I avoid those spam sites that seem to pop up here every once and awhile..
CaliGuy Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 No More Mr Nice Guy is all you need right now. It will rebuild your confidence and self-respect which is essential in recovering and moving on to bigger and better things.
Ronni_W Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Does anyone recommend any books that are inspirational and could help with coping over the lose of a ex? 'Spiritual Divorce' by Debbie Ford is good -- it's not religious/biblical, despite the title. And I was surprised to find some interesting relationship stuff in 'The Seat of the Soul' by Gary Zukav (this one is a bit more "new agey", though.)
v33 Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Check out : Codependent No More by Melody Beattie. I don't know you so it may or may not apply, but I gave this a read and realized some things about myself from it and have made some changes in my attitude. Oh and check youtube for videos from "vitalcoaching.com". Good stuff, helps with changing your break-up mindset.
Green Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 I enjoyed the book "The Game" some of the stuff in there is true... most of it is probably BS... but it is one entertaining book.
