pandagirl Posted August 21, 2008 Posted August 21, 2008 I had been NC for 5 weeks. I've been away for the last month and he knew that. We've always tentatively been under the guise that we want to be friends. There are no bad feelings between us. I don't want to get back together, but I do really genuinely like him as a person and friend. I got back a week ago, and today I decided to drop him an email. I don't know where we stand with each other. But I know if I don't hear from him, I will be fine with it and will just close this chapter of this particular story. People wonder when it's time to break NC or if it's even necessarily. I guess the answer I found for myself, is when you are happy and have no expectations for the outcome.
ahhhchooo Posted August 22, 2008 Posted August 22, 2008 Dunno how that will work out for you. I love my ex and I figured the best thing I could do was be friends with her so I could remain close to her. She agreed that she wanted to keep me close in her life. I thought I was okay, but I couldn't refrain from finding strong hope in our communication - and pushed her further away as a result.
