I still wish we were together some times which really really annoys me. I was wondering if anyone has ever gotten over the feeling of rubbishness at the thought of the ex being with someone else, or seen there ex with someone else and been able to talk to them without crying or even thinking about it once they have left?.....without having met someone else that is better then the ex firstly. I just want to stop caring because he has!

So you were the dumper? That would explain why you didn't care less... But if you were the dumpee than I'm surprised you were able to not care... I know my ex is with someone else and shes happy cause shes told me so without me even asking or wanting to know... Guess she just wanted to rub it in my face I suppose. It really sucks but it will take lots of time for you to not care about who she is dating. Anna100 just try not to let it bother you and try to keep yourself busy so you don't think about it. Its only been 1 1/2 months for me.. so I know its extremely hard to try not to think of it. I believe most people try to find someone else and thats what helps them get over their ex faster. I'm not one of those people so I just believe it just takes lots of time, before you forget. So stay strong and believe that you will get better...

I just want to stop caring because he has! I used to care because we were talking at the time, and she would talk to me about him. Behind his back no less. Anyhoo, since we haven't talked, I really could care less anymore.
Hopelessly_Devoted Posted August 19, 2008 Posted August 19, 2008 My ex and I were together for almost 11 years before he dumped and soon after starting dating someone who he was friends with from college. It has been about 3 months since the breakup. We see eachother sometimes for business reasons, but I can honestly say that I accepted his new relationship and do not want to be with him. I still love him and care for him, but to avoid pain for myself, I had to get over us and become me. Everyone is different so it can not be said when you will stop caring about him or his new relationship. It will happen but you have to allow it and go through the stages that will come- cry it all out until you can no longer, realize that everything happens for a reason. I have not started dating but I met someone on myspace (never thought it would be there) I thought he was an old friend when he sent me a message but after I found out we countinued to talk- we have not met yet...It feels weird but you need to move on. It is hard to hear and even harder to accept it but it needs to be done.

I have been able to reach 80 or 90% healing, but until I am in a new relationship, I'm not completely over the last one and thus am bothered when I hear that they have moved on.

My exw I was praying day and night that she would start dating after we broke up ... at that time I so wanted her to be someone else's problem
