Finally, a nice guy.. good vibes, long chats.. but when should I give my phone number? I do want to talk, but everyone says it's not safe... so when is it safe?

Have you ever given your number to a guy in a bar? Is that safer? You don't know him either.

At some point you have to exchange numbers unless you want a pen pal instead of a boyfriend. If you meet, meet up in a public place and don't tell him where you live until you feel comfortable with him.

I always ask for a number in my third email to a gal.

If she gives it to me she interested. If she writes back and doesn't acknowledge the question she's likely wasting my time. I always lose interest if they do this.

Just obtain a certain comfort level and go for it. If someone is asking for a number too fast tell them you rather email a little more first. No biggy.

I would ask for HIS number, and block my number when I call. (Check with your phone company...I think it's *67 for my service provider BUT please do check with yours.)

Thanks, guys; even in a bar I won't give my number to easily - with a phone number anyone can get my address, work place.. everything.

Are there sites that let you talk through the site? Or maybe another way to talk?

That's why I like cell phones - because they can't be traced to your home address. If you have good vibes about him, then it's probably safe but I would recommend giving your cell phone # if you have one. I wouldn't give out my home phone unless you've known him for awhile, or your work number for that matter.

I agree with this. A gentleman will understand that he should give out his number so that the woman feels more comfortable and safe.

Actually cell phones can be tracked as well. It just costs a few dollars instead of being free.
