So he asked me if I would please give him a chance to show me what being happy in a relationship was all about, and let him help me forget all about being hurt by the MM.

So tonight I agreed to let him take me to lunch tomorrow.

Excellent SB

Take things slow with the new guy - let it flow naturally and ask him up front about why he wont give you his number, do some research before you get emotionally involved, he may just be being cautious

WhiteFlower, It is the single man i had lunch with yesterday, that will not give me his home # or a cell phone #. I have xmm phone number.

That is why with the single guy, i am thinking that there must be someone else in his life. He says there isn't that he just dated a crazy person once and needs time with me for him to be comfortable to give me his phone #.

It makes me hesitant to trust him

Oh! My mistake. Yes, red flag all the way:laugh:.

I have a neighbor who dated a guy years ago. She let him walk her to her apartment door one evening. A few days later he was pounding on her door, calling out her name the whole time as if they were serious long term lovers. She never allowed any guy to walk her to her door again!

I suppose this guy has a higher value set on the house phone since cell phone numbers are easily changed and house phones not? Maybe he requires more of a commitment or offers more of a commitment with the house number once the R progresses?

I only give out my house phone after I know the person is safe because landline phones can be traced back to the street address (even if it's unlisted sometimes.)

Hijack for Your Safety: Try putting your landline phone into Google. Use quotation marks like this "(xxx) xxx-xxxx" If you're one of the people who's name & street address is listed, you'll have to go through Google to have it removed. There are some small links to do that. Look closely. I forget exactly how, but I had to do that.
