Thank you so much for your good wishes! Because I can only talk honestly here, the support of that alone, means a lot to me.

He has been great. He has been the person I know he wants to be. Recently at a large party, he was chatting with 2 single women about his single brother (who we always try to set up) . I was a few tables away but listening without his knowledge. Not concerned, just listening because it was kind of a funny conversation. Anyway, he made his brother sound interesting enough that one of the women said "Let me give you my # and maybe he can call me sometime" and my Husband said "No, no need to give it to me, but you can ask my wife to pass it along". So, he handling thigs differently anyway.

BUT: Recently, when several public figures were exposed for infidelity he had the nerve to say to me: I feel SO sorry for his wife. How could he do that? I was stunned. I just said "Gee, I dunno, HOW?"

Talk about compartmentalization.

These guys risk their family for a fling because they don't think they'll get caught.

I would never judge the women who stay with these men. But I can assure you that if I were married to such a man, and IF I chose to stay with him after something like that (which is doubtful), I sure as HELL wouldn't go up on a stage and stand behind him while he apologized on national TV for being an ass. I just want to see these women stop sucking this up and pretending they're ok when their hearts are breaking inside and they're mortified beyond belief. Ok, if you choose to stay, that's fine. Your choice. But stop trying to kid everyone and stop making yourself look so weak by standing by these men in public. This is not a message that needs to be sent to women all over the U.S.

To me, the public message should be, "You got yourself in this mess, buddy, you can worm your way out alone. I'll be at home thinking about how to process this and trying to decide if I want to stay with you or not. And I want the world to know that."

I couldn't agree more. I would not be on stage with him. I would be out in the crowd filing my nails and shaking my head with a look of disgust on my face. I would forgive my H if he were a public figure just the same as I would as a regular citizen, but he would have to see me sit on the side line with just as much disapproval as the next person during his public embarrassment.

!!!

Very recently again, when NY's Gov. Spitzer resigned with his wife beside him, for infidelity - I thought that even if together they wanted to save his political career -

She should have stood beside him and SLAPPED HIM UPSIDE THE HEAD, right there in front of the nation.

It would have made her feel better, set a good example, and showed the world the issue would be dealt with the same as everyone elses marriage problems. Instead, they glossed over it together, resigning at the last minute just before being publicly booted.

Oh no, make no mistake: I would never go quietly!

Oh, my gosh - I'm visualizing this and thinking about how incredibly funny it would be! If that actually happened on live TV, how many of those husbands would have their wives on stage with them after that???
