i'm new to this, but really need an outsiders point of view.

my husband (of 15 years) is totally out of control. hes aways been verbally abusive towards me, (when i make him!!!) but of late he has begun to throw things at me....shoes, ornaments whatever is at hand..he always says afterwards that this is not abuse because he didnt hit me.

he also says it is my fault as i make him feel bad about himself, he says i know the triggers and should avoid them !!! i really dont.

this weekend i've had shoes thrown at me and a free standing airconditioning unit....after these incidents, he ignores me for days on end, as if im a ghost.

i know all of the answers.... i know deep down that its not my fault..in moments of calmness i tell him that i cant be responsible for him, that he is unreasonable and i dont know what to do when he behaves like this..his reply is that he is not like this with anyone else, so i should look at my self.

i tried leaving once, and made it as far as the womens shelter....i was absolutly petrified.

i have no friends to talk with and my family are distant, phyically and emotionally. this, i know is a bi-product from my relationship.

one minite i feel really angry and strong then the next minute i'm crying and passive and want to die.

am i really crazy as he says i am or am i just a victim (i'd rather not be either!!!!)

any thoughts

thanks

Next time he attempts to throw something at you, or in anyway does anything that might cause you physical harm, you call the police. Throwing things at you is abuse because he's trying to hurt you. Call a domestic abuse hotline, I think you can research one in your area or move out. You need a divorce.

if i called the police would they really respond????? doesnt it sound silly to say i've had a shoe thrown at me...please help....surly they'd think i was as stupid as my husband does.

He can be using a shoe now, but what if he uses a chair or a table or whatever and you really get hurt? If you don't want to call the police I ask that you research on a domestic hotline near your area to talk to someone who's more knowledgeable in said area. And move out before you get hurt.
