Quinch Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 I've been feeling rather depressed lately because it seems that, wherever I look, other people are in happy relationships while I remain single. I feel as if I am being left out in the cold while everyone parties. This sucks.

I felt this way but seriously my feet barely stop at the weekend.. get out and party too.. look around and see that many couples are not 100% happy.. i see my friends and there drama.. no thanks id rather go home alone and do what i want when i want;) id like a part time bf i think.. but thats all now... im having loads of fun.. get out and live it really does help:) week days i go out for drink or meal with my friends.. weekend as above hope you feel better soon x
sunshinegirl Posted August 11, 2008 Posted August 11, 2008 A couple of thoughts: 1 - the majority of couples don't make it. Period. They might look happy now, but you don't know that they have found their prince/princess charming and you don't know what's going on behind the scenes. You yourself were one of those happy couples at one point - remember that - and you will be again. One difference? If you're doing the work on you, you will be able to find, form, and sustain one of the healthy, longlasting relationships. 2 - When I was having a similar mopey moment, my friend pointed out that MOST people wind up getting married, and I'm not THAT special to be part of the minority of people who don't.

Hey you know it could be worse... you could be looking at others in a happy relationship while you are in a relationship that is unhappy for one reason or another. Also, keep in mind those people may not actually be happy. Look at how many people post here for advice... You are single so at least you have some options without hard decisions.
