Once you mutually decide to become exclusive does that mean you are boyfriend & girlfriend or is there another step I don't know about?

Silly, I know...

If you've had the exclusivity, relationship discussion, you can call each other "big boy", "my little cherub" if you want. Regardless, you're in a relationship.

p.s. Plse, plse, don't do that!

I was being goofy.

Once you have the chat, you two are boyfriend and girlfriend. There really is not next steps. The next step talking about marriage.

Jer bear you've totally excluded the moving- in, dealing with moody gf, pms, fights, arguments... need I go on?

Since when are pet names tasteless?

I think that those who aren't called pet names are probably jealous that they don't have someone. :(

Call him schmoopie if you like! :) I've never dated someone and NOT had our secret little pet names for each other. I loved it. It was like our own little twin speak language. lol

And congrats on the new status! :)

Thanks! It's kind of crazy! We had 'the talk' last night without it being a big fuss.

Tasteless pet names are revolting, same as baby talk or naming body parts with tasteless pet names. So tacky.

If he lets you call him "schmoopie," he's gotta be in love!!!

No probs with tasteful! Remember, Poopsie is the name of the uber fat poodle that lives down the street.

And smelly poophead is what I call my pets :p

I think that if you have decided to be mutually exclusive, or if you have been officially asked "(So and so) want to go steady?", and certainly after one of you has said "I love you", and the other has said "I love you too".

I have to hijack my own thread and ask...

Why does the whole 'the talk' thing seem like a big scary deal when you read about it? Our chat was just that. A casual chat. 'No, I'm not seeing any one else are you? No. So do you want to call ourselves exclusive? Yes. Good.' The end.

No 'I love you' yet- but I'm not concerned about that.
