vonerik012 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Often times men complain women are attracted to "jerks" . Women complain men are "jerks", but also are not attracted to nice guys for obvious reasons. How did all of this happen? How did we forget what our most basic instincts are? To mate, procreate, and care for the opposite sex. Just to naturally be whom we are. If you look at popular culture, women are presented with messages that exhibit strength and independence. Spice girls, Destiny's child, Pink, TV commercials, etc. The message is to be a strong and independent woman.(Similar to the type of man they are seeking.. Strong and independent) About this same time, boy bands became popular. Backstreet boys, N'sync, 98 degrees etc. Singing about feelings, being pretty. (Similar to the traits men find attractive in women). Men become "metrosexuals". They almost look and smell like the females we are after. At this point, corporations capitalize. Now men and women like the same things. Starbucks coffee, Suv's, reality tv, Best buy, gap, IKEA, etc etc). A much easier group to market to. So is there any hope for men and women to embrace their innermost natural and genetic roles? Or are we pawns led by large corporations that are manipulating us into unisexual creatures to reap a larger profit?

That also leads to skyrocketing cholesterol levels, and expanding waistlines. Likewise, you must follow the dating ritual precisely, and with accurate timing for promotions. You must become a professional dater before you can have a stable relationship. All of the rules are ignored when dealing with a hottie. Naturally...
