Last week was our company summer event and we all gathered for a few drinks and finger food. I've been midly flirting with a colleague of mine and was looking forward to seeing her in a more relaxed setting.

After a slow start, she sat next to me and we ended up talking quite a bit. She ended up asking me what I think of her. I thought that was a trick question and hesitatedquite a bit before answering.

I ended up telling her she's really pretty. She then pointed some of our colleagues and said that they were sexier than her. I insisted she was the prettiest by far and she just smiled.

We agreed we will hang out again although I haven't asked her out on a date or anything. It was our first semi-personal interaction and I'd like to take things slow.

Does it seem to you like she's interested?

She either likes you or she's really insecure. Ask her out.

When a girl asks you what you think of her, isn't it a rather bold sign of interest? What do you think?

The only guys I ask what they think of me are purely platonic. I would NEVER ask a guy I was interested in what he thought of me.

No, it's a rather bold sign that you're in the Friend Zone. She likes somebody else, and she's using you as a litmus test to gauge how attractive she is.

That being said, she'd be an idiot not to at least give you a chance.

Interesting answer and I must say I agree with you.

She was drunk when she popped that question though. I think she was afraid I'd perceive her as a slut because of the way she dresses.

Thanks for your answer. I must admit no one has ever asked me a direct question like this, friend or girlfriend.

I viewed her question as an opportunity to open up but perhaps I was wrong.
