eiithan Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 Hello all. This is my first time posting on this website. Since my boyfriend of two years broke up with me four months ago out of blue because he fell out of love with me, I became a frequent visitor to this forum and acquired much support I needed. I am still struggling with the aftermath, with ups and downs, but now I came to accept the reality of the breakup and there is nothing I can do to a person who is too young to appreciate important qualities in life other than temporal pleasures. Lately I found music being a great source to comfort and ease my pains, and wanted to share the experience. It would be wonderful if others can share their own too. pandagirl Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Elliott Smith, "Somebody That I Used to Know" I had tender feelings that you made hard, But its your heart, not mine, thats scarred. So when I go home, Ill be happy to go - Youre just somebody that I used to know. You dont need my help anymore, Its all now to you, there aint no before, Now that youre big enough to run your own show Youre just somebody that I used to know. I watched you deal in a dying day, And throw a living past away, So you can be sure that youre in control, Youre just somebody that I used to know. I know you dont think you did me wrong, And I cant stay this mad for long, Keeping a hold of what you just let go - Youre just somebody that I used to know.

roghornio Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Are you guys serious!>?!??!?! Why would you force yourself to listen to sad music!? Find the most banign, intense techno - LOUD. thatll get you through it.
lizamcfc Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Are you guys serious!>?!??!?! Why would you force yourself to listen to sad music!? Find the most banign, intense techno - LOUD. thatll get you through it. I agree! Not banging techno, but don't listen to things that have sad lyrics. Listen to things that are about getting over it... getting back on your feet. That's what I do, I've been avoiding the sad love songs
Crazy.S Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 Are you guys serious!>?!??!?! Why would you force yourself to listen to sad music!? Find the most banign, intense techno - LOUD. thatll get you through it. When I am having trouble expressing myself it helps. It lets out all of your built up emotions from the day. Gotta release it sometime, but as time passes it becomes less frequent. The worst music is probably ones that you can feel nostalgic about your ex. Like music you first dance or shared.
Peter_pan Posted August 9, 2008 Posted August 9, 2008 how could anyone forget THE B-52'S LOVE SHACK!!!!!!!!!!

LikeCharlotte Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Elliott Smith, "Somebody That I Used to Know" mmm it always comes back to Elliot Smith - Pitseleh "I'm not what's missing from your life now. I could never be the puzzle pieces. They say that God makes problems just to see what you can stand... before you do as the devil pleases and give up the thing you love....but no one deserves it"
kizik Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 I have written about 4 songs post-breakup about her, and have recorded two of them! What an excellent catharsis and semi-revenge! So, the answer is: my own music!

The Collector Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Oh how you tried to cut me down to size Telling dirty lies to my friends But my own father said give her up don't bother The world isn't coming to an end (he said just) Walk like a man Talk like a man Walk like a man my son No woman's worth Crawling on the earth Just walk like a man my son Good-bye baby I dont mean maybe I'm gonna get along somehow Soon you'll be cryin on account of all your lyin Oh yeah just look who's laughing now (I'm gonna) walk like a man Fast as I can Walk like a man from you I'll tell the world to forget about it girl And walk like a man from you
Amacada Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Powderfinger - Long way to go. Absolutely perfect... “Don't look back just decide to move on ‘Cause you're wasting my time girl, we just don’t get on Don't wait here for the climate to change Picking over the bones of the love that remains I feel I’ve got such a long way to go We get lost on the winding road I feel it’s just such a long way through Don't resist just relax and let go You can tend to the seed but you can't make it grow Don't invent a new way to hold on 'Cause your testing my patience you just don't belong I feel I’ve got such a long way to go We get lost on the winding road I feel it’s just such a long way through If you let go of me then I'll let go of you This time I'm gone This time I'm gone I feel I’ve got such a long way to go We get lost on the winding road I feel it’s just such a long way through If you let go of me then I'll let go of you If you let go of me then I'll let go of you If you let go of me then I'll let go of you...”
