softball21grl Posted August 4, 2008 Posted August 4, 2008 i dated my best friend for 3 years and we broke up during thanksgiving break so its been a while, he is now dating another girl, which is fine. But heres the problem. After we broke up we still talked everynite on the phone for like 30 mins or so. Sometimes hed cry and say he made a mistake but he was dating another girl so he couldnt undo what he did at the moment. He then put a time limit on it saying "let me date this girl for a year and see how it goes" R U SERIOUS!!!!! i couldnt believe he did that. So a couple months go by and we talk through text msgs about school and stuff about 2 times a month. Ive been on other dates but nothing serious. And i recently came home for the summer and saw him in FYE. But i didnt go up to him or anything cuz i didnt want it to be akward so i left and was heading out of the mall when i heard my name being called and i turned around and he was running to me ( i mean running like i was gonna leave or sumthing) and we talked for about 10 mins or so ( it was a nice talk catching up really) but i dont get that u dont just run up to your ex like nothing ever happened. dont get me wrong i was extremely excited he did but then he has a gf so what does it matter??? at this point i dont want him back because im really happy being single and doing my own thing but i wonder if he sorta misses me. We broke up because we went to different colleges and it was hard. when the conversation ended at the mall he said "cya later" which is a normal thing to do but not for us. When we dated we never ever said goodbye we said 'love you' or 'cya later'. He never wanted to say goodbye because in his mind goodbye means forever. So the point is he didnt say goodbye he said cya later. i dont no....i just wonder if he misses me cuz i miss him i think i miss his friendship more than anything but i dont no. what do you think about this?? Am i just overthinking the situation??
