She thought I should know before I read about it, that Baller got engaged over the weekend to the woman he dated years before me. She said he totally melted down when I didn't want our relationship to continue. She said his whole family is trying to talk him out of it, as they say he is purely knee-jerk reacting to our break-up. They are totally in shock (so she says), and they feel he is doing this to hurt me. Personally, I'm stunned. Should I send the happy couple a vibrator or something as an engagement gift? Or, is that bad form?

Man.. that sucks.. if he asks another women to marry him right after you both go your separate ways then I would say he is very very unstable emotionally.. Even if he did do it for rebound/revenge he still has some feelings for the other girl.. Seems like a total tool move... The girl he asked to marry him must be gullible

He left last week, and it was only then that he was still asking me to reconsider and telling me that we could make it work. I'm ok, because I chose NOT to continue seeing him, but dayum. Art - yes, I do. lol. But besides the point... I don't know if it's so much that he still has feelings for her, but moreso that he knew she was someone he could call after 2 years and ask her to marry him and she'd say yes. Who knows his real motivation. Star - yes, totally nuts. His sister was telling me that no one in his family were taking it seriously, as they felt he was acting out against me. I guess he had told them I was "the one". She called to tell me only so that I wouldn't read about it online first. Johan - she has no reason to back out of it. She's young, not terribly bright, and sees him as a great meal ticket. Crest - thanks! Yes, pretty messed up. I've heard about dating or screwing to get over an ex, but this seems extreme. It does show a lot about his maturity level for sure... 2sunny - yes, a bit of a slap, but according to his family, it was designed to be such to me. I just wonder if he will back out when he realizes I won't react to it. X - he was going off to training camp. He's already been in the NFL for a number of years. The issue is that I didn't want a LDR with him. Overall, I feel like it just makes me even MORE bitter than I was. Between the cop blowing me off, which he did, a tool of a dude I dated last year contacting me today (thread is in another section), and this, I am just DONE. I don't need di*k this badly in my life, and I can move my own furniture.

I agree with his sister that he is doing this as some type of retaliation. Just makes me sad as I feel like it nullifies anything that was ever good between us. Daisy - not only that, but I found a dead bird under the front bush, and I removed it on my own. I SO don't need a dude anymore!!!

Is baby boy baller trying to draw you out with this news? Could he have put his sister up to calling you with a trumped up story to see if you contact him? It just sounds so far fetched and honestly I find it a little hard to believe someone as cool as yerself was with a guy like this. Bear in mind, tho, I did not read previous threads about him. I barely keep up with new posts, going back would leave me in historical posts for months.
