I was at the doctor the other day and I saw this girl workin' at the pharmacy. Immediately there was something. I haven't felt a tingly, mushy and all that garb feeling in a lonnnnng time. So as I was waiting she came out into the lobby and started walking around with some occasional glances. I knew I had to do something or it was going to turn out to be a kick myself later scenario. I have only given my number out once before since I broke up with my ex and I wasn't really feeling it then. I made a small note with my number and tonight she called! How cool is that? Not to hype it but I think it's a sign that my heart is opening up to possibilities again. What I am even happier about is that I took a chance and even if she didn't call at least I tried.

Kick a$$. If it doesn't work out oh well but it shows me that my heart is healing after being closed and burned for so long. Time really is the only thing that helps and realizing that there are other people in this world worthy of my time and effort is a great feeling.

Time to take all the negative energy and put it towards something positive.

Just: This is great! :bunny: I am so happy for you!

It is a sign that your heart is healing, and you deserve it. You took your time, you didn't ruhs into a rebound, you took care of your emotions. Maybe this will work out, maybe it won't. But you're on your way.

Congratulations!

Good for you buddy! I give you props cause I don't understand how one can walk up to a stranger and just be like here's my number call me? I never have the guts to do that! I guess I fear rejection to much or don't have enough self confidence. Maybe one day I will get there?

Do it! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I used to think this way. I was shy, intimidated, feared rejection but what's the big deal? The risk is worth the reward.

I have a prescription I need refilled. Maybe the pharmacy is a unclaimed gold mine? Hehe.

Glad to see you back on your feet!

That is one thing you learn after having your heart smashed into bits and pieces.. Rejection isn't so scary.

There is nothing to lose, except what we choose to give up.

Right on man - you're an inspiration.

Think about it this way.

Most of us have been rejected by those we trusted, some if not most we loved, and in many cases left hanging with no rhyme or reason as to why the end came. Rejection by someone you don't even know is nothing compared to the rejection most of us have already felt. So basically we've already felt rejection many levels greater than someone not calling us because we gave em our number.

Well the date is tomorrow after a nice easy going 1 hour chat on the phone last night. I'm pretty pumped.

Thanks to everyone on this board. I have been in all the stages that many of you are at and I still am in many cases. I am just happy to have learned so much and gone through so much these last 6 months. I am not out of the woods by any means but it's a turning point and we'll all get there on our own time, at our own pace.

So just a little update. The date itself while not being necessarily bad isn't going to go any further. I put my foot down when a girl has to text while we're at dinner and check her phone every 10 minutes. Her friend was having a hard time with her bf who was going to the navy in a couple weeks so I was a little more understanding. But there were other small things that I would consider red flags, I hate that term but.. no thank you for the dinner or the drinks and spit food while she was talking on my left cheek bone. I think it was chicken but I refused to taste it. Man she's hot but the manners or the maturity just wasn't there. I don't even want to mention the DUI she got 2 weeks ago.

The other news is I met someone else through a friend of mine on Sunday so that's on my plate later in the week. I'm pretty pumped about that one as well. Things are rolling forward and I feel like I am finally at a better place today. :)

Best,
